Isn't it common knowledge that one of the last times Brian saw Freddie, was partly to show him the Bohemian Rhapsody scene in WW? Which Freddie enjoyed. I swear Brian's mentioned that a couple of times in the past year.

I personally doubt he watched the whole film, or even an early cut of it as i don't think it would have been Freddie's cup of tea, but i think he would have enjoyed watching the homage.

Yup, I've read that too couple of times. I haven't read about it being one of the last times he saw Freddie, but given the film came out in February 1992, it's possible.

Isn't it fifth, not fourth?
No, it's a fourth. Five semitones is a perfect fourth.

Re "Feel Like", I believe that Greg Brooks once said at Convention that it's Bowie doing the one fingered piano note.
I expect they played around with some existing stuff first (piano note on "FL" and additional vocs on "Cool Cat" before getting creative with "UP".
You're correct. Feel Like was played at the 2000 UK Convention and GB said it featured DB playing piano.

This sounds reasonable to me and makes Brian's article easier to believe :)

More info about the UP sessions seem to be on the way. At least there are claims 2 more people were there.

Lesley Anne Jones Freddie's biographer wrote today
"Roger Scott was dear to me
I'm just writing about our visit to Mountain Studios, Montreux, in July 1981, the night that David Bowie dropped by, and wound up recording 'Under Pressure' with Freddie and Queen. Read all about in in HERO: DAVID BOWIE, by me, on 8th September. "

Interesting. Ta.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

At least there's a month to to tie down the timeframe,
Though given LAJ's "journalism" in the biographies expect some artistic licence.

Not having a pop at you here but lines like that always make me chuckle; as if Freddie had any say in it........ Having read the two books (on Fred & Brian), she's a typical example of someone that managed to finish A Level English and then probably did some sort of journalism course and then went straight to the bars and clubs to pick up rock stars. I've got her on Twitter I think (somehow) and she's a shameless ligger.......

That the first night was Wembley was incomplete.....
That "more to life than this" was "pieced together from scraps".
That you don’t fool me was "pieced together from scraps" (GT confirmed it was a full demo with full written lyrics)
Freddie really enjoyed "instert whatever event / person he wants to here"....
He said the short piano bit in The Magic Years "Butterfly" was "All things that glitter", they are nothing alike.

In a convention in (I think) Italy, Mack showed the track sheet for the final mix and the song was finished at the Power Station in New York on the 11th of September (yes, that's right) 1981. I always thought the Swiss sessions had been in August but then again I'll happily stand corrected if there's any sound evidence pointing otherwise.

amazing.
amazing how you are allowed to "carry on" like nothing happened. esp after having made a comment like this:

and NEVER a hint of an apology.
have we really got NO moderators here? this site has gone to ratshit...and your comment is symptomatic of the problem.
