My Fairy King from Queen On Air is up on the official Queen You Tube channel. To my ears it sounds a bit cleaner (ending of the phrases, backing vocals, instrumental track) than the Queen at the Beeb release. What's more I don't know how to describe it... but it doesn't have the "new, fresh" feel to it that See What A Fool I've Been has on the NOTW deluxe edition. Hear it for yourself:
SWAFIB from Queen II sessions if I am not mistaken

Could have been Jim who gave the thumbs. Hope Roger gave him the V for that. Just kiddin'.

Yes! Thanks rocknrolllover for pointing out that dumb mistake of mine.

Roger just on Steve Wright on BBC Radio 2 saying the same thing (that he hates listening to old interviews). It's like he completely disconnects from the product his company is selling.
I suppose we can expect the Steve Wright interview as a future extra on some shit release.

Can we assume (bearing in mind that interview with Roger) that either Roger is not good enough at his job as executive producer on Queen releases or either this is a sign how much influence has the Universal / Island Records on what is released and how ?

Absolutely hilarious although his tone wasn't rubbishing the product, simply stating fact from his perspective. I suppose he's of the opinion Roger Waters is in that if other people like it, then fine.......... Also good that he can air his own thoughts on it if he wants to.

So what does this "dj chatter" mean exactly? It's part of the track itself? Meaning you would have to skip past the stupid dj shit before the song starts or what?
Michael.
Have you not heard the session 5 recordings that have been around for years and has (I think) Bob Harris' talking between songs?
It's amazing to hear all his comments, incl how the band are on tour and where you can catch them at.
Listen. If that's not for you, that's fine. That's why the 2 CD set does NOT contain the DJ banter.
For those of us who DO want it, well, it's on the boxset.
For once, Queen have given us a choice!
Unless you want the cd with highlights from other shows.....
So will the cd have the inane chatter included IN the song track itself or will they be separate little tracks outside of the songs themselves?

Neither Brian or Roger were positive about the Queen Forever release either.
They seem to have a lot less control than other classic bands over what gets put out.

Great link and interview, thank you AlbaNo1
I guess they know they are releasing crap, very sad if they dont have more control these days

So I'm just listening to the Steve Wright podcast of yesterdays show now and to be fair, he just said that he personally cant listen to his old interviews, but it was nice to hear Freddie. He also said there was "some interesting stuff" on the interviews.
He was also quite pleased with the music on there.
He didn't sound disconnected, he sounded quite upbeat I thought. I suggest to anyone who hasn't heard the interview, give the podcast a listen and make up your own mind
(Steve Wrights Big Guests available from the BBC).
Quick addendum... he definitely had a different attitude about Queen Forever.

Thanks for that, I'll give it a listen and possibly forgive him ;-D

Sounds like you've never heard the sessions at all!
OK. most bands BBC sessions (if not all) had complete songs broadcast. Perhaps the last second may have been interrupted by the DJ as the track faded out. So. Don't worry. The songs will be complete and uninterrupted.
What none of us understand is why the playback order on the CD differs from the playback order of the broadcasts!
It just beggers me why QPL would go to the trouble of presenting/re-creating the broadcasts on the 6CD set, but have it all out of order - unless, of course, those CDs DO have the correct running order of tracks....
QPL. Always one step ahead of everyone.... defying logic!

I have heard what has been officially released to date. These tracks are the songs themselves with no chatter to speak of. What I don't want is to have stupid dj chatter included IN the song's track itself. Have it on separate tracks before and after but not IN the track itself.

Ah! I understand what you are saying now.
I agree, though it makes little difference to me as I'll be ripping the CDs from the 6 pack and editing them so that I A) have a choice of listening to just the songs or the full sessions and B) putting them back into the correct order!
