Cant find the 6 cd box set anywhere here in Brazil. Maybe someone else from here has been able to find it. Hopefully next time I travel to the U.S. I can, cause in November a week and a half ago I was there and couldn't find it there either.

I thought some of the sessions were only 16/48.
Session 3 is sourced from 16/48.
However, like the 2011 remasters, 24/96 "masters" were created as the output files and it's these which are being offered for sale online.
But even that is bollocks as the Sessions 3 tracks all have the same 21khz low pass filter as the original Beeb release. That confirms that it's basically a rip of the original CD, not taken from any higher quality source.
But if the BBC's logo is often present in this release then they must have at least tried to find the master tape of that session and look what can they do with it... Or maybe it was in that bad shape that they didn't even want to do anything with it ?
I wasn't commenting on that - I was just pointing it out that isn't from any kind of "master tape" let alone a digital 48khz one.
Who knows why they didn't go back to the masters for that sessions - maybe they've lost the tapes or maybe some used the wrong files even.

I hate to revive old shit... BUT
I made a bid for a 6 disc set on eBay. BRAND NEW $20 ....it arrived yesterday. I have not opened it.
I noticed something immediately that i haven't seen mentioned before.
On the back of the box
CDS 1&2...... BBC *REDIO**** SESSIONS
did i order a bootleg?
Or did they not catch this embarrassing typo?

I'm probably gonna have to get at this bastard and get my money back (*or report him)
The type in QUEEN ONLINE looks spread as well
As is the fine print. "THE BBC **MARD** AND LOGO IS A TRADEMARK. ...."
I was never gonna buy this thing. ..but i low balled and they accepted hmm...now i may know why

The font used in the title and in QueenOnline.com is the typical font used in lots of fake chinese products. I think it's very, very fake.

Here you have the back of the original boxset:
I feel sorry for you.

Nah it's fine...though I do appreciate your concern. I figured it was fake. I'll just push a little on the seller and they'll refund my money so as to ensure that i don't cause a fuss.
If not. ...I'll report it to eBay and get my money back via PayPal to my account once the seller (likely) basically ignores my contestation.
It usually works out on eBay nowadays. ..the old loop holes aren't there.
Thanks for being quick with that. I'm at work and it'd take some time to get onto discogs

And that's where being a skinflint gets ya.

^^ actually no. There are several being sold that don't use "stock photos" of retailers for roughly the same advertised price $24.99-28
It didn't sell. Was hardly promoted etc. The dual discs sell for about $7-10. (*plus shipping in most cases)
I just wanted to see how low it'd go.

Damn, small wonder I never saw a copy in music stores in my area at all.

Apart from the fake appearance in the font, the discs inside the box and the booklet are the same as in the original version? It is so interesting...

The booklet looked very digitized : i.e. was scanned and printed. Same with all but the exterior casing. I also believe the casing wasn't nearly as glossy as the real product but i hadn't had one to compare it with.
Got my money back, (*and copied the first three discs) no idea whether downsized or not as I'd converted to 320kbps mp3.
I'm far from up to speed with technology these days sadly.
Sunnuvabitch's listing stated he'd already sold about 15 copies. Either a well intentioned importer/liquidator who was ripped off..or a connected guy who INTENDS to rip ppl off
