I have indeed been a busy chap.

But I'm back again, and before someone inevitably says it, yes because we're looking for things again.

and….

No, we haven't finished a 26 CD Queen Anthology boxed set.

No, there isn't a studio version of Hangman.

No, we will not let you go.

No, no, no, no, no… with the wrong amount of No's !!!

He's very busy. Being the Queen 'archivist' is a finite job. He fucked it up so much first time round that he has to start all over again which means several more years in employment. Method in his ridiculous madness....
"No there isn't a studio version of Hangman"....you missed off "in the official archives".

Is this the same as "no, there isn't a live version of The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke"?

It looks like no one appreciated the joke from Greg about 26 CD Queen Anthology boxed set. Maybe this track they have, but they prepare it for mythical boxed set

yes you have been busy...mainly losing things that people lend to you - like Hangman acetates?

What´s the story on this?
The only person i know of who says he has this acetate is John S Stuart, and from their interaction in QZ i don´t think John was very inclined to prove to Greg that he owns it, let alone sending it to him.

Was there any advances on the "Hangman" acetate story?

Property of Queen Productions, bleeeh I dont have any respect for that wanker.

i was being sarcastic. as it is well-known that John lent other stuff to Greg that mysteriously went "astray"

my suggestion being that - there isn't a "Hangman" acetate in the queen vault, because - had there been, then GB would have undoubtedly lost it

and to those who say GB didn't lose it - a member of staff did. I disagree. JSS handed it to GB at this point it's GB's responsibility (alone) to ensure it is returned safely to JSS

I remember that story.
Let´s hope that JSS agrees to at least lend it or sell it to Brian for the future box-set.

i wouldn't. and i hope he doesn't. because while John still has it then it exists. Brian openly admits to having a shocking memory - as proven by many fans. So why should he be any more reliable than ANY member of QPL to take care of something so priceless?

the only way to do this is for QPL to send someone with a mobile Protools setup, round to his house to professionally transfer it to digital. That way (at least) it doesn't leave John's sight - and remains safe.
And they can give John a digital copy for his trouble, while they're at it

It's really funny. A collector buys something and hoards it away for himself for decades. How sad is that? He then shares a copy with Queen productions, who then steal it and deny everything. I mean, that's hilarious! It's fandom and the music business in a nutshell.

Let's be honest: Hangman is a bog standard, completely average song. If it had been released back when it was written, fans would think of it in the same way most seem to consider Sweet Lady i.e. a bit naff. Hangman has lost its value except to sad hoarders and obsessed collectors. If QP were to now purchase it from a collector and release it, it would make less impact than Let Me in Your Heart Again (which had very little impact, despite being unheard before). Queen are not The Beatles and a "newly-discovered" song like Hangman could be released and forgotten about almost the same day -- just like Let Me in Your Heart Again.

It's not that true. Newly-discovered Queen song is very important to Queen fans, the way newly-discovered The Beatles song means to Beatles fans.
For Joe Public they both are one-day interest things.

'Let Me In Your Heart Again' was very poorly promoted. So the impact was very little.
I'm not talking it's a part of weak useless compilation instead of 'Anthology' set...

dudeofqueen wrote: Anyone heard anything from good Old Greggy Brooks lately?

There haven't been any posts from him seeking information or material that ought to be at his fingertips for a while.

He went strangely quiet after TFFMS turned up magically on Live AT The Rainbow.........
GB:  Hey there dudeofqueen….  I wrote this elsewhere on QZ today, so I'll say it to you too….

Re: Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke on the Rainbow product… I did NOT know it was on the tapes until we all sat and listened to the tapes for the first time in 40 years, in early 2014. I'm not clairvoyant, so, like all of us, including the band, I was as surprised as you were to discover that song WAS on the tape after all, which was wonderful.

Did you think of that?  Yes, I was wrong about that.   Have YOU never been wrong about anything dudeofqueen?
