He probably does love it since it's generating more money for him. But no, the world is not black and white, and it's not a greyscale either: there are millions of colours, and not being able to see the IR or the UV doesn't mean they don't exist.
The theory of John hating Robbie's cover of 'Champions' is entirely plausible; the theory of John talking to the tabloids about it is utter tosh in my opinion.
