I've seen Queen+ Lambert, live, and it feels like a tribute show. Queen never felt like a tribute show.
As apposed to what. . . .

Kiss touring without Pete Criss and Ace Freley. Roger Walters touring The Wall without Floyd, David Gilmour playing large chunks of classic Floyd, Status Quo with two original members ( down to one at present) AC/DC with one original member fronted by Axl. . . . .
I fully agree with you, except in the case of David Gilmour, he still release new albums and play them entirely or almost entirely in every concert of the promotional tour. Brian and Roger can learn a few things from that...

As opposed to a Queen show.

You wrote "Some of us were lucky enough to have seen them back in the day. But the shows with Lambert don't feel much different."

The shows with Queen+ Lambert feel like at tribute show. They're performing songs that are decades old (nothing new or current like Queen were doing when they were performing), and the highlight of the show - or the biggest response from the audience - comes when Freddie's shown on screen, singing along with Love Of My Life or Bohemian Rhapsody.

Plus, with Lambert it feels like he's filling in, as opposed to Freddie who was the real deal.

That's not knocking what they're doing, but those shows certainly don't feel the same whatsoever.

In a way, the QAL shows ARE like a tribute show because they always give proper tribute to the one and only Freddie. The difference is that you still have two very amazing original members of the band performing at a high level of excellence!
Those two original members performing was the reason I went to see them myself.

Freddie Mercury very sadly died. John Deacon retired. Brian & Roger want to keep the band (and songs) going. They find a new singer.

Paul Rogers was OK for a time but ultimately didn't fit. Adam Lambert was asked to join and most definitely fits in!!

Now we can continue to enjoy Queen live. And they're brilliant - but obviously different!

And the reason I started this thread was because I'm excited about a potential forthcoming DVD. Lovely stuff!! :-)

P.S. I met Neil Fairclough recently and chatted for some time. Not only is he an amazing bassist but you won't find a nicer man who is also passionate about the music of Queen.
Queen + Adam have been performing worldwide for four years without a DVD release, while there have been releases from the Queen + Paul Rodgers era.  There are hundreds of people who attended the QAL concerts who would like to have an official release of these spectacular shows rather than a bootleg copy!

I just hope that there are three new studio songs on this live release!!! Like "Hell Freezes Over" by The Eagles twenty two years ago! But that was only one c.d.! This would definitely have to be...at least two! Surely this would include a live c.d. or c.d.s and not the process certain people done in recent years where only the film is released...RIGHT?!

Who's said anything about three new songs...

We don't even know if this concert is being released

I've watched every single QAL show since they started performing together, two LIVE in Chicago and Michigan, and the rest on live streams. It's time for a DVD. Here is a segment of four songs -- In The Lap Of The Gods, Seven Seas Of Rhye, Killer Queen and Somebody To Love -- from a show in Toronto in 2014 that I just love:
