Just wondering why the negativity? One of the biggest complaints in recent years was the Anthology set not being released and the BBC sessions. Now we're getting the BBC and everyone's still complaining. What sessions are missing?
1) People are happy that the BBC sessions are finally being released so almost everybody is happy the 2-disc set is happening. It would have been better if the "mega rare item" Greg claimed to exist many years ago on this forum would have been included....
2) The "deluxe" edition is what makes the fans on here, on QOL and everywhere else so angry!
It's supposed to be aimed at "collectors" while clearly the content brings nothing new to said collectors. This is the business approach that QPL have chosen for years now and it's the total opposite of what other bands are doing. For example: Deep Purple re-release Made in Japan with a collectors edition with all shows from that Japanese tour. Yes release Progeny: a version with hightlights and a 7 complete concerts version!
They could easily have included full concerts in the "On air" release.
They can also easily:
-->Make a 1977 Earls Court box with both shows in audio and video
-->make a NOTW 1977 box with Houston and whatever audio they have from that tour
-->make a 1979 box with tons of shows from both Live Killers and Crazy tours
That would be collectors editions!
They can then easily make - next to those collector editions - 2 disc versions with just one show or the best bits.
That way BOTH the general music enthousiast and the Queen die-hard would get what they want!
