Pick one. The right one.

Hmmm...diminutives never were my best %)
But Freddie seems canonic.
It's not that i'm kidding...still under impression of Richards/ Langthorne book.know nothing about printed version. But in kindle one a bunch of surnames (mostly people of Freddie's circle) are misspeld.

Here is another funny story. Before a concert trip to Chicago, Freddie took us to Cartier's on Fifth Ave and had us all pick out a clock that we wanted. I still have mine, but it doesn't work and somehow the ruby on the outside of the casing got lost- my damn luck.
Anyway, we attended the first of two concerts in Chicago. Normally, after a concert, the venue would always provided food and drinks for the band, the tour operators and invited guests. Now remember from another reply, I told you that Freddie rarely displayed "star attitude." Well, when Freddie saw that only cold buffet items were available, he threw a fit. He demanded to speak to the Manager and said..I WANT HOT FOOD in a very intimidating tone of voice. The next day after the concert, there was laid a FEAST of wonderful hot foods and specialties and great wines and Champagne. Immediately after the concert and before the buffet, Freddie allowed us into the "cool down room" immediately after the concert. Well let's say that "little white lines" were presented to us in the cool down room, prior to the buffet. Suddenly, none of us were hungry and we wanted to get out to the clubs of Chicago. We passed the manager on the way out and Freddie simply said "thank you." Later when we questioned him on this unusual display, he laughed and said "well, they are supposed to give me hot food- I don't have to eat it" We laughed all night.
Comedy gold.

By the time I met Freddie, the band members all got along fine but did not do any socializing together and were all pursuing their own lives. Brian May and Roger Taylor were very respectful of Freddie's friends and talked with us each time we met, and it was always great to see them. Unfortunately, I never heard or said a word to John Deacon, but I just assumed he was "the quiet one." Freddie never had even one bad or slightly bad word to say about them.
No doubt - he was a complete pro, even around his friends.

Thanks for sharing your stories ! This has all been a very enlightening read. Threads like these undoubtedly remind so many people (lurkers too, not just those who post) why they love this band so much. New insight into most of the old bands is at a premium, and you've presented us with a treasure trove of new tales. Thanks for taking the time to share them.

Sounds to me like Mercury has managed to find a sort of "goldilocks zone" for himself.
Enjoy the fame and whatever comes with it and at the same time, maintain the level of privacy, which allows one to enjoy the benefits of being an average person.
Perfect! What could be better than that?!
Exactly. But in finding safe places where he could blend in and not be recognized, that anonymity also allowed him the freedom to lead a hedonistic lifestyle under the radar. And like so many people on that gay scene, it took him.

A reminder that there really is no utopia.

Hello everyone,
This is Thor Arnold again...just got back from a trip to New York to see family and participate in a family reunion. I know I missed a lot of questions but give me a chance to go through them and see which ones I can actually answer. Be back with some replies. Thanks to all those that have written such kind words.

Splicksplack hi<
I did go to the Copa several times while in London. I remember it being a fun place up until "Heaven" took the crowd over. As far as Kenny the DJ goes, I probably saw or heard him but did not know his name...sorry.

Miracle Tour hello,
We spoke about our friend John Murphy who was first of our crew to pass. We all felt badly and talked about it one time that I can remember. As I have said, some of us started taking precautions on our own but but not discuss it in a group. Personally, I stopped using "poppers", convinced that this was the main cause of it and also started faithfully to wear a condom.

P.S. Splicksplack... I said his hotel name was Alfred Mason, not Arnold (my last name) Mason.
I see this has already been corrected.

Matt Z hello again
As far as I know, the New York years may not be in the new movie at all...but if they are, I think my name will be mentioned. I doubt my role would be portrayed but if I had to choose someone to play me, the Thor movie actor would be a coincidental great pick. As for Freddie, I haven't a clue but perhaps a cute, short, thin built Bollywood actor with an English accent and a moustache? Does anyone know of any? LOL

Time for a funny Freddie story.
So, Freddie took us on his leased private jet ...Elvis's old "Lisa Marie" for concerts in Phoenix, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. He had a fight with his recent boyfriend (what else is new). So Lee Nolan and I went out in Phoenix with the purpose in mind of finding Freddie a date in Los Angeles. Well, I found this very gorgeous bartender and invited him on the jet for the short trip to L.A. Freddie met him but thought I had invited him along for me. I planned to surprise him later and send the guy to his room. Anyway, that same day, the fight with his boyfriend was mended and he was to meet up with Freddie in LA. So, not wanting to disappoint this boy, I brought him to my room...LOL. Freddie was happy and I was happy and I hope Lee was happy somehow.

Welcome back, Thor. I'm glad to see you're still with us. I look forward to your thoughts on my question I asked a few days ago. As a member of the LGBT community myself, getting to speak with you is really special. Guys like Lee and yourself lived at the height of the scene and survived. Your generation came before us and really opened some major doors. To live out loud...and to be safe while doing it. In short, guys like yourself are a bit of an inspiration for me. Thanks for taking the time to share your stories here.
