Interesting Captainjory, I didn't know about that.. :-)

Olivia Newton John is gay?
Y
You'd be amazed to know how much of Hollywood is closeted, PJUSA. I won't name names but I knew I guy when I worked at the LGBT center who slept with quite a few "straight" actors and musicians in Hollywood and NY. He had his own photo album filled with proof.. That's all I'll say LOL
T
PJUSA,
She admitted once that she was either bi or lesbian years ago. But she divorced gay Matt Lattanzi the moment Chloe was born.
She had an Asian fiancee who suddenly disappeared into the Australian Outback...Oops She is married again to a man but
what her status is now, I don't know. She looked affectionately into Pat's eyes, but then some think Freddie did also with his lady
friends.
She sang "Rumor" with Elton John and stated in the song...."Once the rumor spreads...the truth is just a thing of the past"

Good lord, isn't that the truth.

Smoky, thanks, I'll definitely check it out!

Thor, my God, Truman Capote may be my favorite writer ever. What experience did you have with him?
T
Hi RBoulain,
Well, he was surrounded by an onterrage of way more important people than me. I think he
liked my look or he probably wouldn't have even shook my hand...oh well. I wanted to ask
him some questions because I am such a fan of "In Cold Blood" but the group kinda elbowed
me out of talking distance.
Now, Margaret Trudeau was very friendly but she could barely stand up. She shook my hand and said
some things that I could not understand...no one was around her, poor thing. Later I learned she had
mental and emotional issues.

GREAT NEWS
I heard from The Squirelly One. She is involved in some major business dealings and frankly
just didn't want to endure 5 pages of bickering. She promised she would be back when she is
not so busy. We really have to end nasty arguments the moment they happen. I'm sure it
turned many other's off as it did me. PLEASE, if things get heated, Private Message your opponent
and see if you can work things out. Nobody else is interested.

Awesome! Glad she's coming back. I don't blame her for wanting to bounce. I was just about at the same point today.
P
That is good news...she's been a great contributor.

Thor,

Thank you for the info about how and when you met Freddie, Joe, Lee, and John. It really helped put things into perspective. Loved the "Singlet Sisters" nickname from Freddie. How perfect! Also, I was the one who asked about Freddie's voice, so thank you for that tidbit as well.

So I have to ask, how did you ever get a job building a set on Saturday Night Live? Bartender, nurse, carpenter...quite the interesting skill set!

(Yeah, for a while I was starting to think it was time to leave this thread...glad things rebounded)
R
Ogre,

"Hello, Rainbow! Thanks for the info! I'll tell my Office colleagues to close the file :) "

Ha ha....your comment was great. Thanks for making me laugh today. Glad I can resign from Interpol with a perfect record!
R
Thor,

Wow, you've had a lot of interesting "star" run-ins. I did get Dorothy Hamill's autograph at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. It was during the men's ice-skating final. I thought that was pretty cool at the time!!! I still have that autograph.

Were there other famous people you met out in clubs or parties while with Freddie? If so, was there anyone in particular he was excited to meet or had comments about afterward?
T
All those tired of my non-Freddie personal stories please skip this reply. I do not mind at all.

Hi Rainbow,
OK this is why I had so many unrelated jobs:

When I did not get into Medical School (1977), I thought I needed a career, and if it was not as a doctor, I tried to find something else.
While bartending at Uncle Charlie's South one day I met a guy who worked for the pharmaceutical branch of DuPont called Endo. The
main headquarters was 5 min. from my mother's house on Long Island, N.Y. When I was a kid, I used to ride my bicycle past this
building because it was modern ahead of it's time and reminded me of many Frank Lloyd Wright modern buildings like the Guggenheim
Museum in New York City. Anyway, this guy who kinda liked me offered me a job in pharmaceutical sales. I accepted and left the bar job.
Well, I got a company car (nice) and a business expense account (nice)... and I went for training. After three weeks, my first day out I had
to go to a Doctor's office in Jamaica, Queens (not nice in those days). After spending about an hour just looking for a parking spot,
I thought I found one and went into the Doctor's Office, where I had to wait about 45 minute to see him. He gave me no eye contact and
finally said "Why would I want to switch to a product (Azene) which is exactly like Valium. My patient's are fine with Valium, thank you."
Then I saw the parking ticket on my car. I HATED the job and quit with two weeks notice.
I went back to Uncle Charlie's but of course I was replaced and there was no opening. My father introduced me to the stagehand business
that was the main careers of him and my grandfather. Stagehand jobs were divided into three areas, Electrical (but you had to have experience),
props (furniture, decoration placement and holding Cue Cards) and the 3rd area was carpentry because the job was building sets and breaking
them down. I was not in the union but since my father and grandfather were, I was given union wages. Due to countless hours of overtime, the
money was fantastic albeit tiring and unpredictable.
After two years of this 1977 and 1978, I went to the library to investigate medical related jobs. Since I already had a degree in Biology, I narrowed
down the choices to Pharmacist (three additional years of education) and Nursing (two additional years of education)> I chose Nursing and by that
time I was able to wiggle my way back to Uncle Charlie's part time but as a waiter. When a Fri, Sat, Sun part time bartending job was available
I jumped at it and made sure I never scheduled classes for Fridays. ('79 to '81).
I passed the licensing exam and landed a job in Pediatric Oncology where they had 7p to 7:30a shifts where I scheduled myself on M, T, W and Th'
I worked at the cancer center from '81 to '84 then moved to San Diego I accepted a job in Physical Rehabilitation and started out on the Spinal Cord
Injury in '84 and retired in 2016.
So, that is my story if you have not fallen asleep yet. LOL
T
Rainbow,
Did you miss my list at the top of this page. In case you meant only the people I met with Freddie (not in his home),
there are none I can think of.
