Can we finally stop talking about the dram in the Queen fan groups? I'm tired of hearing about Barbara and the gay erasure of Freddie. I would rather hear Thor talk about his happy memories of hanging out with Freddie. That is what most people come to this thread to read about.

Yeah let's all ignore the BV issue from now on; her bi-screaming fangirls/boys can eat shit and die for all I care. It took a lot of strength to ignore the last argument and I left the group finally, as did a few others. A BV fan saying she accepted Freddie as an attempted murderer because she said so, was the final straw for us lol.
I used to be too scared to write on Queenzone because although I consider myself fairly knowledgeable on Queen's music, I am more a Freddie freak and well, sometimes we get criticised for being interested in his personal life and not the music. Well, I can't help it, he was fascinating and Thor coming here is why I finally decided to use my account. I mean I always wondered what his friends were like! In the first ever footage of Freddie (18 years old) when he's sitting on the bench and looking at something in his hand, it appears comically similar to a situation where, someone from modern day would be looking at his or her mobile phone..checking email..twitter updates etc.

Shvili, I very much doubt you'd see Freddie on Twitter and other social media. He was an extremely private man who refused most times even to give interviews. I doubt he'd want his life posted all over the internet.

And yet here you all are discussing Freddie's personal life. Even his sex life. No matter if you do so 'respectfully' as everybody keeps mentioning. There is nothing 'respectful' in discussing a man's sex life or his drug use or any other personal detail once he is dead.

@Jory, that's fair enough being a Freddie freak but you do realise that without Queen and his music he wouldn't have been who he is was? It was a huge part of him. It actually saddens me a little when I hear him speaking so clinically about music just being his job, although it is very honest of him. I don't take him 100% literally though otherwise he wouldn't have worked so hard, especially towards the end.
I really don't quite understand the boiling piss over the 'bi' label, but I am straight so I guess I wouldn't? It's clearly horse shit but it's only a label, isn't it? Have to say though glad I was too young to really remember those hateful articles at the time, and no one in my family read The Sun.

The man is a legend to me, but I can't help but feeling this blots his copy book. I know he wasn't a saint, that doesn't bother me in fact it makes him more interesting and human. Lets face it we love the stories of excess and debauchery, who wants a squeaky clean rock star?

Yes Mr. Q, but some forget that other people made up parts of Freddie's life and they're entitled to share stories of their adventures with him. Just because he was private does not mean everyone who was once in his life has to keep their mouths shut for eternity.
