And to the second point Smoky,
Freddie loved my apartment for what it was worth.
I've already described how unusual it was to have
a large patio on the first floor and a courtyard in a
New York apartment. He loved anything close to
a garden which explains his love of the Garden
Lodge's garden and all the improvements that Jim
made to it. He did not expect me to have an
apartment like his but he felt comfortable in my
place as he was is his own. He did not say "uuhhww
take me to the Ritz" like I have stated in a prior post
by someone who had neither fame nor fortune...LOL

Hey PrimeJiveUSA,
I'm sure this happens in the straight world as well, but I don't know for sure.
Besides Brandon, before I ever met him, I had a 2 year relationship with
Joe Scardilli, one of the 4 new NY friends of Freddie. When we first broke
up, I was heartbroken, and probably stewed for about a year. But after that,
all the things I enjoyed about him as a boyfriend were still there. Our love
died (his love first) but I moved on and we became good friends. The same with
Brandon after 7 years together and a little time away, we also became good
friends and left all the nastiness behind. I do not know, but perhaps women
can not leave things behind. I believe they may be much more unforgiving if
they are ever cheated on. That seems to be a clear break-up thing with no
chance for reconciliation. OK...time for the ladies here to add their thoughts
on this subject. I may be completely wrong about this...please enlighten me.

Thank you for this frank response, Thor.

I still have to pinch myself that I am conversing with a "friend of Freddie's" about stuff like this!

LOL..I have idolized this man and band since 1978!

Yeah...in my experience, women that were former girlfriends/wives don't gel well in a "group friend setting" with "new girlfriends/wives". But that's just *my* experience. I've burned through a few marriages in my life but I am actually a pretty traditional/conservative person.

I do notice the younger generation is much more comfortable with what you describe, so maybe things are changing

Hey PrimeJiveUSA,
If you ever want to vent to me about things in your life,
please feel free to private reply to me. You have become
my new straight friend among others here and if there is
anything I can help you with by listening and offering what
I can, it would be my pleasure. I will repeat...any fan of
Freddie's is a friend of mine.

Maybe
you can give some pointers to our friend PrimeJive USA, it seems
he's not finding his way to friendship with ex's like we have.

No that's okay, Thor. I don't desire those old "reconnections".

;)
T
And that's ok too PJUSA

Ha! I wish I could get on that level with my ex husband. It was a nasty divorce, which was a shame because we were best friends when we married. Id love to reconnect with him as friends these days but it just isn't in the cards (at least for now). Time may change that, who knows.

Whoah!!!!

Thanks, Thor. You don't mind if I show this to friends of mine that know how Queen-obsessed I am?

Seriously, this thread is just too cool! Thank you AGAIN for coming here. I'm in a happy relationship at the moment, but once it goes south...you're on "speed-dial_(old-school reference).

Cool Villiers,
When the time is right it could happen. To me the key has always been
getting OVER the nastiness, even if I was the one who had to swallow
my pride!
Hang in there buddy!
T
HaHa PJUSA,
Thank God. At least I can rest assured that you are happy now.
Glad to hear it. To you too...Hang in there my friend!
T
Of course you can share this PJUSA

Not to take this on a "nasty" detour, but I have noticed that you are very anti-Trump/Republican(to say the least).

I wonder if there were ever any political discussions that you had with Freddie or overheard what his political *leanings* were. Now, I know that the time that you were friends with Freddie is a LIFETIME ago when it comes to politics but I do remember in Phoebe's first book that he said that Freddie never voted but he got the feeling that Freddie was *conservative* politically. I'm pretty sure it's probably the *economic* side of conservatism that Freddie aligned with but...any thoughts or observations?
T
@Thor

I hope you dont mind but I sent you a message privately about a gentleman you mentioned earlier from North America

Thanks!

OK PrimeJive,
I have never trusted Republicans and mostly trust Democrats. In my
opinion Republicans are for the very rich and the very stupid that
think THEIR needs will even be considered. Although Republicans
laud Ronald Regan, his "trickle down" economic plan only helped the
very rich. The word AIDS was somehow never mentioned. My group
felt that most Republicans thought "hmmm...AIDS affects homosexuals,
IV drug users and Haitians...well, that's kinda GOOD, no? And then there
is Trump... The religious right, suddenly doesn't care about 3 marriages,
grabbing women by the pussy and that he never goes to church. This
exposed them as the hypocrites that they are. Perhaps Mary Magdalene
was grabbed by Jesus in the same manner... I think not.
Sheeeeww..sorry, but I have strong feelings about this...lol
Back to Freddie, other than what a "fool in presidential clothing" Regan was.
British politics I cannot remember ever being discussed with Freddie, even
though the Iron Lady was friends with Regan.
I really can't answer your question but thank you for letting me rant on!
S
PrimeJiveUSA, I'm inclined to agree with you on the friendship after relationship thing, it doesn't happen very often and I too would rather not in many cases. :-)
T
Oops ..it is Reagan not Regan...but who cares anyway..lol
