*UGGGGH it did it again. These blank posts are starting to work my nerves lolol*

Fantastic, thank you

Really cool to see pics from a time when Freddie (and no doubt Peter Freestone) had so much fun. Peter really glows when he talks about that time in his life. There was a video of him talking about the NY and CA years at a convention a while back on YouTube and it was really nice to see. I'm still cracking up at freddie picking on him (jokingly) about his weight lol. This one was credited as 1981, and he looked fit here! I'm sure Freddie just liked picking on him in a little brother sort of way

Hey Villiers,
That's a GREAT picture of our Phoebe. Thank you.

Tip: once you tap "reply", even if you think it may not have gone through,
do not tap it again until about 30-45 seconds. Chances are it did go
through but was just buffering.
I learned this lesson the hard way..LOL

Thanks for the tip! I did hit the reply button more than once. Thats what did it lol. Try uploading an avatar through a desktop (if you're on your phone or tablet). You might have better luck. This site seems a little finicky on a mobile layout

Hey PJUSA,
That is from Disney World which I WAY prefer over Disneyland.
I absolutely love the "World Showcase" part of EPCOT and have
had many a good time at the English Pub and Restaurant. A great
place to see the fireworks from and I always meet some very nice
Britains. I am, after all, a hopeless Anglophile if you haven't yet
guessed. I once asked the "old dear" who was entertaining at the
piano to sing "The White Cliffs of Dover" I LOVE that song!

I'm as big a Disney fan as it gets, Thor!

Do you stay on property when you are at Walt Disney World? What are your favorite rides there? What other World Showcase pavilions other than the UK do you like?

T
PJUSA,
I've stayed at the Dolphin Hotel, New Orleans Hotel, Polynesian Village Resort,
Contemporary Resort, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and even the Pop Century Resort,
and the Boardwalk Hotel where I rented the luxury suite when
I sponsored a complete family reunion in 2015 (ha ha, I was still working then !!)
I LOVE the entire World Showcase and have eaten at the Morocco, German, Mexican
(my favorite due to the atmosphere), French and Canadian restaurants.
Hey PJ, I own the original EPCOT theme songs vinyl record. I don't know anyone who
has that. LOL
I miss "Pleasure Island" where there was the first "gay night" at one of the discos...yes,
you could probably say I like Disney World.
T
FLASH..."Don't Stop Me Now" featured with Sara and Hero. on America's Got Talent.
Simon Cowell LOVED it! (best dancing and performing dog show with lots of drama and
skill.
T
Oh..that is not a quote from Simon...but he absolutely loved it.

Well, that's opening another can of worms. Kurt's alleged suicide note. There are some of a mind that the last lines were not written by him. (*I'm no forensic cryptographer, but there are SOME similarities and many differences) ...some question the very ability of a man with that much junk in his system being able to even shoot himself.

Another "theory" is that he was already in talks to get a divorce from Courtney (with lawyers etc) and that as someone who stood to benefit far more from widowhood than ex wife status, Courtney had sought someone out to have him "put away" (low brow musician El Duce came out "confessing" she'd offered him 50K to do the job.

The implication being that this "suicide note" doesn't mention anything about suicide until the last two sentences. This theory posits that the letter was likely a letter being written and rewritten to send to the editors of rolling stone etc to pretty much announce his retirement from music. (*he'd been scheduling studio time to cover some LEADBELLY songs on the down low).

The only fault with THAT reasoning is the questionable line "it's better to burn out than to fade away",which COULD imply suicidal reasoning (*but by the same token could just indicate he was burnt out and leaving on top would be better than dragging things out

But that's all for another day and it's very dismal and flogging a dead horse (user)

Many of his musical peers just believe he liked killed himself. I guess it lends itself to the mythology

Conspiracy theories aside, the context in which I posted it was to show how Fred was one of his musical idols. Despite the sound being very different it shows how Queen and Freddie were an inspiration, being blatantly flaunted by Dave Grohl now of course.

Fred very much appealed to those who felt a little different and outsiders. An example of why in many ways Queen are such a unique band. Both massively commercial yet at the same time very different, odd even.

That's awesome, Thor!

We stayed concierge level at the Boardwalk and the people staying in that suite let us in to take a look around and it was fabulous! That was in 2009.

I have stayed at:

Beach Club(2015)
Polynesian(2013)
Boardwalk(2009)
Ft Wilderness Cabins(2007)
Caribbean Beach(2004)
Coronado Springs(2002)
Disney Institute Villas(1998)
Caribbean Beach(1997)
All-Star Music(1996)

The last three vacations have been Deluxe Resorts and now I'm spoiled for anything else there. Would love to stay at the Contemporary and Animal Kingdom Lodge next. We walked the grounds of the Animal Kingdom Lodge during our last visit and ate at Boma's and fell in love with the place!

P.S. That's extremely cool that you have that original EPCOT vinyl! I actually got to go to EPCOT Center in late October 1982 when I was 13...it had only been open for a couple of weeks and I was over the moon...it was to modern! We had to blitz through it in a day though as my dad had a business convention in Orlando and he brought the fam because it was Disney. Spent another day in the Magic Kingdom, of course. Back then, that's all there was!

T
Wow PJUSA,
Nice list of hotel stays. Word of advice for the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Take the least
expensive room. I paid a lot extra for a room facing the Savanna where supposedly
you could see animals right from your balcony. Well, you could see animals, but they
were about 1/2 mile away and NEVER got any closer to the hotel.
Trivia Question for you PJUSA: What does the EPCOT name stand for?
T
Thank you QueenZoners who may have no interest in Disney for
bearing with this last exchange.
Back to FREDDIE and QUEEN.......

Hey...all of Queen were Disney fans and visited both Disneyland AND Walt Disney World.

John Lennon signed the final paperwork dissolving the Beatles while staying at the Polynesian with Yoko, too!
