@Thor

Here's a Freddie-related question. As a nurse, did you ever tell any of your patients about your friendship with Freddie?

If this was already covered, my apologies.

Hey PJUSA,
Don't forget, this was the early '80s working in a predominantly
female workplace. Although I would never deny being gay, it
was a topic that really was never brought up. I have almost
always come across as straight to the untrained eye. A few
asked me if I had a girlfriend and I said, "not currently". I told the
truth, because there were many years between Joe and Brandon
anyway and it WAS true that I did not have a girlfriend. My cancer
kids had more important things on their minds. No one needed to
know my personal business at that time anyway. Freddie's friendship
was personal. Besides, I never brought his name up to neither straight
NOR gay friends as I am not comfortable with name dropping or name
droppers.
Here is a memorable example: I was in a bar in West Hollywood, saw
a guy I thought I liked and it went like this..."Hi, how are you doing,
my name is Thor" to which he responded without grabbing my
out-stretched hand, "I just came from a party with Tom Cruise, I didn't
know he was gay." I made an instant about-turn. This event solidified
my feelings about name droppers...LOL

By the way, PJUSA, I will assume you did not know what
EPCOT stood for as you did not answer my question to you.
Environmental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow..hence,
EPCOT
P
No, I knew what it stood for. In fact, that's what Walt called the whole Walt Disney World project in the '60's after he bought the land.

P
Actually...it's "Experimental" not "Environmental".

Gotcha!
T
YES PJUSA....thanks for the correction...now I feel the fool.
Just kidding... thank you buddy
P
Oh me...I hope I didn't kill this thread with all this Disney talk!

@Thor

It's really admirable you don' t name drop. You don't ever talk about your Freddie association to new acquaintances even in this present day long after his death?
T
No PJUSA, I never mention Freddie unless I am asked. Knowing
Freddie does not in any way make me a star or make me more
worthwhile. I am me. Freddie was a great friend and fully cherished
in my mind. I never try to impress people, unless they are interested
in MY achievements in life.

Thor,

If you already answered this from a few days ago just tell me and I will scroll back...

You mentioned (many pages ago) that Freddie was proud of his Live Aid performance. Is there anything specific you recall him saying about his performance or that day in general? It is one of my all time favorite videos to watch. That was Freddie giving a master class in showmanship like nobody else could do. Just amazing! I couldn't begin to tell you how many times I have watched that performance...but let's just say I feel like I could be a consultant on the movie!

So you're just like Peter Straker, when it comes to Freddie you want us to talk about YOU.

Kidding!

Man, you seem like such a quality individual that would be a lot of fun to be around. Your friends and family are lucky to have you in their lives.

T
Hey Rainbow,
Actually I did not attend Live Aid. I was talking about the 'Kind of Magic" performance
at Wembley Stadium. He was very proud of that concert. Who wouldn't be with hundreds
of thousands of fans raising arms and, on cue clapping to "Radio GaGa".
R
Thor,

Thanks again!

HELLO ALL,
I am getting the feeling that this thread has served it's purpose and I may need to
say farewell. It seems that only a small group of people want to participate anymore,
despite about 90 downloads of my pictures.
I will give it until Sept. 30th and then make my decision. After that, I will be glad to
give my email address to anyone who wants to stay in contact, and will ask those
who do, for a private message. I love this thread, but if it has to end, so be it. I want
to thank all of those who have participated even if just once.

Please consider just checking the thread every few days instead of leaving. I know many people are observing and enjoying the thread that way. Ive literally spoken to about 10 myself :) I'm sure others will trickle in as the weeks go by. Also, you told me you were gonna let Lee see this thread in December, so please stay! I'm sure I'm not alone when I say id love to see you two both reminiscing
