Lol uh... Gay clubbin after 9 beers... In the dark... with very little self awareness LOL

Not like I can talk, though. I was the only person in my middle school's history to fail dance class. Lol

He did this shimmy with his waist... He was like a little washing machine LOL it was adorable but maybe not the coolest move haha

Did you dance with him, Thor? Ive read that he could really tear up the dance floor if the mood took him lol

Thank you for sharing the videos, Villeirs!

Thor you say you only ever saw freddie with annie leibowicz but there are theories he shared many hotels with Barbra Valentine. Did he ever laugh at her with you, people claim he called her a whale behind her back but would he ever be that rude? i know you said he said women 'sang from their c**t' but was he that rude? or just trying to make you gay friends laugh to impress?

i watched the garden lodge tapes and his camp friends seemed to laugh and be obnoxious all the time. did you witness anyone laughing at Freddie when you stayed, cos that's the impressioni get. everyone is laughing and the only respectful serious one is mary austin.

lol re the GIFs, Villiers! :-)

@Thor

If this overlaps with other questions, don't worry, but what did Freddie inspire in you? I remember you saying that you'd go back to work rejuvenated after your hour with him. Was that because you all laughed a lot, his positivity or something else?

Also if Freddie were asked about each of his daughters, how would he have described each one of you? Lol.

Do you have any funny stories with all of you? (maybe after too much revelry - I don't mean that badly). I'm assuming you heard Phoebe's account of his first night looking after Freddie (and the round bed). Baptism of fire for Phoebe I think.

Well Smoky,
I don't know of anyone as fortunate as myself to spend 11 1/2 hours doing very serious, emotionally draining work
and then be treated to 1 hour of laughter with good friends. I was truly blessed in this respect. It was such a great
respite for me when it happened. (Of course it did not happen every night but boy, I wish it had).

Joe S...the handsome one (my X)
Lee N...the story and laugh man (example: Lee went into the bathroom in Freddies apt. and emerged with a Carmen
Miranda style self made FRUIT HAT with battery powered lights inside of each fruit...Freddie laughed the entire hour
and made "Kathleen" wear it the entire hour....lit.
John M...the quiet one with an Irish heritage and the ability to drink large quantities w/o a change in his personality.
Me...the leader of the group that became good friends of the LEADER of the band!
T
Hey Villiers,
So you figured it out anyway. Thanks so much for these charming vids.

Hello RBoulain,
I will follow your link after lunch. This is Brandon's last day in San Diego and I
am taking him out.He reunites with Lee, tomorrow at his condo in Palm Springs,
lives there for 9 months and does not move back until June 2018 for 3 summer
months. I will visit once every month or two. Palm Springs in the Winter is
unbelievably spectacular with perfect weather.

Welcome Plasma Pen,
HaHa, I'll be glad to answer this question while you catch up on reading the entire thread.
I never spent time with Freddie in Germany. I had no idea who Barbara was (or as I have been
learning, THOUGHT she was).
Perhaps you don't get the humor in Freddie's c**t reference. He LOVED the voices of theses
women (Montserrat and Jennifer H.) He was making a "funny" remark about how deep in their
bodies that their voices could possibly have come from to have that range and ability to hold
notes. He meant ABSOLUTELY no harm by the comment. He would NEVER use this reference
outside of his circle of friends. For example, if he called me "faggot" in a joking way my community
was perfectly fine with that...BUT if anybody outside of the community used this word at me, they had
better watch out... I do know how to fight!

Very true re friends during work time, on the rare occasion I've had friends visit for lunch while at work, the rest of the day/shift has sailed by afterwards. I forgot because it doesn't usually happen, my friends all being quite a distance away these days.

It's lovely to get a description of your group back then. Now I can imagine them all. Love the fruit hat story, LOL!

Just wondered whether Freddie called Lee 'Kathleen' because he was 'Lee N' - leen, so Kathleen...Perhaps that's already been covered though, lol

Sounds like fun Thor! Have the best of the times of all you ?.
I have a couple of friends living in Palm Springs and indeed they say the same about the weather, I hope you can visit often!
Here where I live is rather unpleasant on winter.

Hey Villiers,
Yes I did dance with Freddie, but only once at the "Saint", the most popular club
in New York City at that time. It was like pulling Marie Antoinette to the guillotine but
I managed this ONE TIME The greatest thing about "free-style" disco
dancing was that you were never judged on your dancing ability, and just had fun.
Freddie got into it and had a great time with an unusual amount of full open mouthed
smiling ..not just the usual grin.
T
Hey SmokyQuartz,
Lee Nolan was "Kathleen" named by Freddie, because he loved to give "B" actress nicknames to his friends,
based on our last names. Kathleen Nolan was a 60's "B" actress only slightly famous from her role in
a US comedy program called "The Farmer's Daughter."
To this day, Lee loves this nickname and it was used just as much as Phoebe's nickname, whenever we
got together. Mine did not stick (P.P. Arnold ????) but Lee, (especially in that fruit hat) was a definite
Kathleen. Freddie was so proud that he came up with this lasting nickname.

Thor,

When this thread was shorter, I used to skim back over other questions and answers to avoid duplicating anything that had already been asked. Now at 59 pages into this, I have pretty much given up on doing that and am just trying to rely on memory...that might not always work! So I offer you a general mea culpa for repeating myself (or others) which I hope will be good for the duration of this thread. LOL

Question: Did you ever hear Freddie express any concerns during those times he experienced problems with his voice due to nodules.? Did he have a regular specialist for that issue...maybe someone in NYC or back in London? Did you have any advice for him or know doctors that you could refer him to that he would trust?
