Brilliant...... Now I'm really looking forward to the rest of the tracks on that disc but the overall price tag is unfortunately still quite unappealing for a fan of my financial bracket.

Boy is this a WATC Day for me; woke up listening to the album track then the instrumental, watched the Alternate take of the video progressively in bed. And to go on online to hear the Raw Sessions! Exciting start to a Friday :D

Very very good. Thanks for the links to the videos :)
This is what we've been asking for since around 2001 (?).
I really like the alternate WATC. makes you wonder just how many other tracks from all their other albums have alternative different takes.

This raw CD is likely supurb, but is not worth shelling out $150 for the box set. If this box set was issued without the LP, I would grudingly be willing to pay up to $80 for a four disk box set (while noting that the four disk Rainbow box set cost less than $60).

One'd be tempted to say, 'all of them.' But, alas, touring with a loser from a reality programme and re-re-re-re-re-re-re-releasing the same products is often (not always) far more of a priority.

This is so fucking beautiful.
It's always so great to hear new material with Freddie.
What a fantastic band it was...

But that's the biz. The label wants to make money, and the band cares about their legacy with the man on the street more than a few thousand hardcore fans. It's all about furthering the brand.
We should feel lucky we're getting this much - a whole disc of it.

Wow, simply amazing. I think I'm excited

Simply amazing. I could hear Freddie singing the alphabet and Brian tuning the guitar the whole day. WWRY solo is very interesting :)

Obviously composites, but still. Wonderful.
Those saying there’s not much difference in fully alternative vocal takes really aren’t even aware of what they’re listening to when they listen regularly to the original released versions do they?!!
Yes and yes.
When the companion discs for the Zeppelin albums came out a couple years back, there was not a single peep of squabble on the Zeppelin forums. Just pages upon pages of people dissecting every minute detail and marvelling in the overall significance of what they were hearing. Why are some Queen fans different?
Indeed, they are comps - and they are still magnificent. Freddie Mercury's outtakes are still better than most singers' final takes. He was just so unbelievably good.
Brian's lick @ 3:44 of Champions is gorgeous. That is what focus and a penchant for melody sounds like.

Yes great tracks, but wasn't this the case as we discussed and expected. Disc 2 being great and the rest well.... not???

If they cared about their legacy and wanted to further the brand, two of them wouldn't tour with that loser as their new front man.

Interesting to hear, but I'd sooner hear proper alternate takes as opposed to Frankstein-ed composites.
