Love Freddies voice, dont care for MJ, its my opinion, i dont care what you think, i will play 'Queen' till my dying day!
Michael Jackson recorded the biggest selling album in history. It will never be beaten. For that there has to be massive respect. Comparisons are pathetic and made by a brain that hasn't yet developed the ability to think.

Oh and he ripped off Bob Fosse hook, line and sinker for his dance moves, look etc.

Ripped off? You mean, combined and perfected a new style that was inspired by Fosse, James Brown, Sammy Davis Jr, Fred Astaire, Jackie Wilson and others.
No, i meant ripped off Bob Fosse hook, line and sinker.
Freddie's live voice wasn't that great? Well I've read it all now.
They're not comparable. Jackson is the ultimate sacrificial cow, so over rated. Most of his music was shitty throw away saccharin pop crap.
i think mj is not in the same league as Freddie. both live and in the studio people on here saying freddie wasnt good live go fuck yourself or wank over MJ. Tossers.

What a cunt.
I did this thread to raise awareness about a misconception, didn't do it to shit on MJ. Someone who is registered on MJ forum(surely is someone) should link this discussion.
Jackson was and is more popular than Freddie...no debating that....Jackson sold more records that's a fact...Jackson was a better dancer by a country mile is a fact... Everything else is subject as we all know. The better songwriter is Subjective. The better performer on stage is subjective. Depends what you think makes a great performer. Apple and oranges comparing these two. In all honesty I'm not a Jackson fan....not debating his Influence on dance music, and do like a handful of songs.....but saying all that he's not my thing. So I'm biased for Mercury...I could go on and say how overated Jackson is but what's the point?
still hanging on tight
„Michael Jackson recorded the biggest selling album in the history...“ - sure. His record company, Epic, also probably paid the biggest backhanders in the history of recorded music to make it the „biggest selling“ what ever you might call it. The music business at that time was „the biggest cocaine money laundering scheme of all time“, to quote the great Frank Zappa. It's well-known that indie promo men were operating a criminal payola-like circle to get songs played on the radio. Dileo, Jackson's future manager, was a heavy user of indie-promo-men and Jackson believed that Dileo played a big part in the sale of his thrilling piece of plastic. Thus made him his manager.
Even though Freddie had his diva-moments, as we all know, he was nowhere as psychotic as Jackson. Jacksons psychosis led him to sell millions of records, not his famed talent. If talent was a benchmark in the music business, Grease wouldn't have sold better than Graceland.
Quincy Jones approves this...
Thank you, Quincy. What made you work with the psychotic stinker in the first place?
Michael Jackson was the biggest paedophile in popular music.
...with an alarming loss of reality.

Michael Jackson is not at the same high level of greatness with Freddie in all that concerns making music or singing.
Their is this current from MJ poor fans to associate him with FM even putting him and the same level of musical skills.
Far from being even closely comparable these two singers.
While Freddie has a clearly largely superior voice he also wrote he's own lyrics composed he's own music, played instruments also live on stage and did all sorts of musical styles successfully.
Meanwhile MJ relied on other people to produce he's songs or co-write his lyrics. He's voice... average nothing special, he's vocal live performances, again average.
Michael Jackson is not comparable to Freddie.
Jacko hardly sang live
