Would you folks consider Adam Lambert a "rock star"?

Couple of questions. I have noticed this often since Q+AL began.
Why do people feel the need to say how long Freddie has been gone? Most of us are aware how long it's been since he passed away. All this time later, Freddie's legacy is still living on. And not because of the almighty AL.

Why do so many AL fans come to Queen boards to promote Adam?

Typical Glamberts not bothered about Freddies history it has to be about Adam cos Adam is the bees knees and he is current and he cant play any instrument or write the greatest pop record or even do ballet on stage and ardent Queen fans are taking to Adam etc.........
What planet are yous lot on?
You constantly crow on that Lambert is god on here and disrespect Queens mega talented Freddie Mercury in favour of that American twit who has nothing to back up his claims that he is super talented ,not one jot.
Silly females on here and you wont get taken seriously as its a male dominated site.
Please just give up or grow up.[/QUOTE]

First I'm not a glambert, I'm just open minded.

I don't get what you mean about Freddie's history. Liking Adam is not any disrespect to Freddie, at least not from me, I was simply pointing out that there are Queen fans, (male & female) who are willing to accept Adam since Freddie can't be here. I'm certain if you asked them they would all prefer to have Freddie back, but that's not a possibility. I've never said Adam is god or anything like it, but equally he's not the person you claim he is either. And like I previously said, if we aren't supposed to mention him why is there a part of the forum specifically about QAL? I'm genuinely asking, I've no idea how the forum was started or who made the QAL part.

I mentioned the years, because I still can hardly believe it myself, how much time has gone by since then.
And at the same time I can’t stand people, who behave, as if Freddie would come around the next corner and take over the lead vocals again.

I can’t answer the rest of your questions.

But here is mine: Why can some people here not believe, that a regular Queen-fan like me does enjoy these shows? And feel therefore offended by some posters behavior towards a member of the current line-up?

I‘m out for now, ladies! And remember: The Show must go on! ;-)

It many ways it still seems like yesterday. I wasn't a fan before he passed away, but I remember coming home and finding out that he passed away. And it moved me to tears as Ryan White and AIDS was pretty big news at the time. I hate the way Freddie died, it breaks my heart even now. The man died with courage and dignity, IMO.

I have no concerns that Freddie's legacy will live on. What I don't like and what I don't agree with, and this isn't dire at you Sealion, is that AL is the only reason for Queen still continuing to be popular, selling out, etc. That's bullshit. And on two Queen boards I've read some Glamberts claim that. Were those people aware that Queen's music has never gone away? AL isn't the reason the shows are as popular as they are, the music and Brian and Roger have a lot to do with it, maybe more than AL himself. AL is the savior for Brian and Roger, or the music business after all.
Take care, Sealion.

B & R have said in so many words that they might not be still be touring if not for Adam.

There is no way to know whether someone else, other than Adam, might have come along to inspire them to tour again.

Question: did the original Queen guys ever perform in an acoustic situation? Freddie was so energetic and animated, I can’t picture him singing while sitting on a stool, other than Love Of My Life alongside Brian.

Sealion, thanks! I forgot about that one!

And here is another one:

I don’t remember them doing a whole acoustic set (but maybe they did). Actually they were mostly up to date with a lot of the technical stuff.
But they sometimes had acoustic parts, like the one I posted.

Who knows if they asked or wanted to ask anyone else to tour with them. We both know Brian and Roger have hyped up AL to the extreme at times. And I know many Glamberts lapped it up because AL is their guy singing the Queen songs. I will never ever think AL matches the pure emotion in many Queen songs vocally.

Yes a part of Queen's Live Aid set was acoustic, Freddie and Brian singing ITWWC is just stunning, magnificent really and truly ;-).

My favourite one:

My favorite too. I love how that worked even without all the bells and whistles. Proof they did it, and did it well.

I wish songs like Avici's had been released. Most of Adam's songs that were released were never my favorites. I don't think the ones that were released did him any favors, as so many other unreleased songs were much better. I have never been a fan of WDYWFM!! There was another one released a year or two ago that was not on an album that I really liked! It was Can't Go Home. Whoever is picking the songs to release is not doing a great job, IMO!! I still like him singing Queen music best of all as I am a fan of both Queen and Adam, so it just works for me! I hope they have a really good song for the next era to release!!!

I don’t know if Can’t Go Home was played on the radio, but there was a cute music video shown on TV for awhile:

Check out this video on YouTube:
