Would you folks consider Adam Lambert a "rock star"?

I think the dance routine was very good.

The dancing was very good ;-). I can't fault that.
I'm not sure if it was the right song to sing in that setting. [/QUOTE]

Introduced on the show as "From the musical We Will Rock You" :O :(

Lambert's style -- a mixture of diva, west end theatre, and annoying talent show vocal stylings -- really doesn't sit well with a great rock song like WATC. At least when Lisa Minelli did it, as horrible as it was, it felt real. Here, it was like a paid ad that might pop up in the middle of a real performance. Cheesy and artificial.

I think it was the wrong song for AL to sing here. Sometimes less is more, and that is what I was hoping for, but it still came across as way too dramatic. Not in a good way either. He suffered without Brian, Roger and the bigger stage.
I don't agree that L.M was terrible, but I do think the emotion of the day affected a few people. L.M wasn't the greatest on the day, but not terrible.

I don't think he's terrible either. His style of singing is just hard to listen to when compared to really great rock singers. He's better doing Queen's pop songs. With that said, he was still better than Gloria Estefan's performance from a few weeks back. A total train wreck.

I've been saying for years he's better at singing pop than rock.
I don't watch Strictly, so I wouldn't know about who else sang. Was her song a cover?

No she did her biggest hit.

I am sure it was not his choice what song to sing. That was surely chosen by the show, so you can't blame him for that. It might also have been because that is one of Queen's biggest hits and might be easier to dance to than We Will Rock You. I am sure it was to remind people of their current movie. All those decisions are above Adam's pay grade.

That said, I thought he killed it. His vocals were awesome and it couldn't be sung as a rock song if people are doing a smooth waltz to it. When he doesn't show emotion, then he is a zombie, when he does, it is too much. I thought it was a great version for a dance show as this wasn't a rock concert. Glad to see we are all sticking to our battle lines. Strictly a win for me and I think the song proves he can still hit the high notes which was a discussion a week or so ago.

Looks like he is at the Kennedy Center for the honors show. Everyone is thinking he will honor Cher, probably with Believe. I am sure someone will let us know after the taping tonight. I believe Adam has new management or he wouldn't be singing at all these high profile gigs, the Wicked TV special, today's show, the Kennedy Honors show and the show honoring Elvis in January. Somebody has to be behind all of this. Guess we will see! I for one would like to see him sing O Holy Night on a Christmas show!! Maybe next year, if all of these go well. I am so tired of lip synchers, so he would be a refreshing change!

No idea if he's performing or giving a speech etc but he's definitely at the Kennedy Center.

Mine too after hearing him do the first bit of it on that 80's show, would love to hear him do a very scaled down acoustic version but I suspect I've more chance of winning the lottery, sigh!

They're just running with rumours, there's still nothing official, guess we'll have to wait and see.

rockchic, yes we got a tease, but I want to hear the whole song.

Regarding new management, I saw something about a group with a huge list of clients, celebrities something. I have to search for the name.

This was just posted by someone who was at rehearsal at the Kennedy Center, apparently Adam is performing possibly solo and doing a Sonny & Cher duet with Cyndi Lauper.

Yeah I'd love that. I thought his new management was Philly Mack unless he's changed again.
