Yes, DZ was helpful and had put a good amount of time into his efforts, which was much appreciated. Some of his researched information from a publisher (not his attitude) was deflating and very blunt but at the same time, was interesting, seemed possibly logical and was thought provoking. With Lee's approval, I went ahead and changed some of the final revision of our query and proposal, (but none of the manuscript at all).

Believe it or not, my first concert ever was in 1971 with Elton John at the new (at the time) Nassau Colosseum on Long Island. I went with a 10th-grade buddy of mine and we had a blast! Now YOU saw Elton 48 years later. OMG.
Obviously, from your reaction, he is still doing a Captain Fantastic job all these years later..

Brava to you for your "Sharon" facts. Freddie never really explained why Elton got that nickname, so thank you. Freddie had a picture of Elton in his livingroom at GL which was signed, Love Sharon. Freddie had some hilarious stories about Sharon, but none that I can fully share with you. Let's just say that they were during Elton's ah...blue period.

Apparently Elton used the name Sharon Cavendish as a pseudonym for booking hotel rooms on tour.
I have a lot of admiration for Elton. He was very considerate and caring about Freddie, and very hands in helpful to HIV victims at a time when there was so much paranoia and hare around HIV.
Freddie was a pretty good judge of character, it seems, so for Freddie to allow him near him when he was so near the end, so that speaks volumes to me.

My first concert ever was...Liberace...mid 70's in Saratoga! First rock concert was Cheap Trick in 1980.

Sometimes when you meet someone new, you have that immediate, strong feeling that you are meant to be friends. Other beautiful friendships evolve over a much longer period of time. How long did it take for you both to realize that Freddie was going to be a very special person in your lives?

You may recall, but I work in the Dental field. Trust me on this..... I would Never have entered dentistry if it was not for Universal Precautions!!! Universal precautions came about in dentistry in mid-eighties because some whack job dentist was caught injecting his virus into patients!!! If memory serves me right, this dentist was in Miami, Florida. Prior to mid-eighties, most of the Dental field put bare hands in the mouth, did not sterilize instruments, did not use disposable products......in other words....barberic and gross!!!!! I remember the feel and taste of my childhood dentist's hands in my mouth! It's a Very Visceral memory!!
HIV is still a concern in our field, but the bigger threat is and always has been hepatitis. Since the first time I learned of HIV/AIDS (....i want to say it was with the death of Rock Hudson....????) I have been fascinated with the history and trajectory of HIV/AIDS.
