Re Elton's pseudonym. It was actually Sharon Cavendish (Sharon from Pinner)

FreddieDarling, I'm always open for correction. Thanks!

Jo T. No probs. We all immerse ourselves in SO much Freddie related data, that some of it is bound to get tangled in our minds eventually.

I remember reading that when Freddie had badly hut his knee ligaments, in a rather boisterous play in a club in Munich, and was in plaster from ankle to thigh, that Elton was in town doing a concert and Freddie watched from the use of the stage, be Elton was jokingly threatening to drag Freddie in stage for a duet. Instead he dedicated "I'm Still Standing" to him. :-)

More typos!

hut = hurt

use = side

Freddiedarling,

Hey Thor, at the risk of exposing either my ignorance or my naivete, what did you mean by Elton John's "blue period"? Just curious.

Another question for Thor and Lee:

Thor, you said you met Freddie in August 1980. I assume Lee met him shortly afterwards. After John Lennon was killed in December of that year, did Freddie ever express concern for his safety? Did he ever get a chance to meet Lennon? What did he say about it?

I went to a Beatles tribute concert on Saturday night, so they have been on my mind.

Shvili, Freddie's hair was apparently naturally curly and he would straighten it while he had long hair. I remember Peter Freestone saying somewhere (possibly an ask Phoebe blog) that the 80s short hairstyle brought the end to the "dreaded curls", or something to that effect. Personally, I quite like the curly hair!
S
He had naturally curly hair. Phoebe said he liked the short cut because it made it easier to straighten
S
He had wavy hair at most, but not curly.
There's no way curls in the pic before are natural.
Probably Brian helped with hair rollers. lol
Nothing really matters in the end.
C
Curly straight or bald he was the hottest thing on earth do all you guys agree with me.Thor what attracted you to him the first time you met and who initiated the conversation.

According to, I think, Pat or could be Sue Johnston, Freddie used heated hair curling tongs. She said in a report of a Queen in Cornwall video that when they (Queen) did their first ever Queen tour in Cornwall, Freddie stayed opinion her father's home, and Sue/Pat's Dad came downstairs and announced to her that *I've seen it all now! He's up there curling his hair " :-) Apparently Sue and Pat's Dad loved Freddie! :-) So, I'd say Freddie didn't have curly hair, maybe just a bit of waviness.

I believe he had the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. They just call to my soul. Beautiful. Lusciously, silky dark, with enviable like lashes. A beautiful man!

Blenkolove : Thank you, my dear. Yes I certainly am fortunate to have such a wonderful kind thoughtful sister.

She is also buzzing from our shared "Mercury" experience. We had a blast! Can't wait until April 18th to see the next concert. We're going for a meal before and then we are going to show Joseph a big Birmingham welcome!

I seem to have created another Queen fan! :-)

He actually used the tongs to straighten his hair. I believe Phoebe over anyone...he lived with him for 12 years
