Lol I'm a Brian fan but no you're absolutely not alone. It's obvious. That's all I plan to say on it.

Charles, I wasnt comparing Brian to Paul I was listing people that weren't who he thought they were in my opinion .Token completely out of context. But that's okay I have never been afraid to voice my opinion and my opinion doesnt make something a fact.It remains my opinion that's all.
Brian may have stabbed Freddie in the back with the Bo Rhap movie, but Brian is no Prenter.
Saint never he was so you can relay that message if you like.Or better yet let him join us please this is a Queen forum.
Do we know if Jim liked Brian????
Koala, your post was lovely. Thanks for sharing and please do come around when you can.
Koala, yes please stop by more often have missed seeing your name pop up.You always have the nicest things to say .
Blenko, I think they got along fine I have never heard they didnt.Jim was easy to like I think.
Does anyone who hates Prenter here even have a reason to? Outside of selling that story and holding a party at Freddie's flat? Some fans act like Paul was the devil himself and when you ask them why they hate him they list stuff the man didn't even do.
"He spiked Freddie's drink."
No. People assumed he did. Literally nobody claimed to have seen it. They all just said Paul was there. They also said Freddie had over 300 people at that party and to quote Jim "There's no way Freddie knew all those people".
So what did he do that was so god awful exactly? Maybe I missed something.

I really like Brian, and admire so much of what he's done with his life. I think he's one of those people who walks the talk, something I aspire to but am not always successful at. I really don't want to say anymore on the topic. While we've always had small disagreements on this thread, I think it has taken a sad turn towards negativity, and that's not an atmosphere I care to foster.
koala such a lovely, heartwarming post. I can very much relate to what you have said. Thank you for sharing your story with us.
Chevyman...thank you for being brave and sharing your story, it must have been awful for you.
Charlies boy I prefer to keep out of the Paul Prenter issue but I'm making comment as it was me that mentioned Freddie turning blind by something he had been given. To claify I wasn't there so have no idea if it is true other than I watched a Freddie documentary in which Reinhold Mack spoke of the party and said that just before Freddies cake came out , Freddie had come to him to say that Paul had gvien him something which caused blindness. If you watch clips of the party you can see that Paul is holding him as he is unsteady. I tend to belive this as Jim mentions Freddie becoming distressed in his book. He said that Joe F had come to find him to help calm Freddie.
I'm going to end this post with one of the things that I love about Freddie which is how expressive he was in interviews with his hands. Peter said this is one of the reasons he took up smoking; to keep his hands occupied but I love it as it shows passion in what he is saying.

forgot to say that I imagine that Jim and Brian got along fine. When Jim passed away, Brain wrote some lovely words about him on his website.
Doughnut, I am fascinated by Freddie's expressive hands. They were rarely still in interviews. I also enjoy any video I can find where he is playing the piano. He was a master!
I too saw Brian's expression of sympathy when Jim died and it was lovely.

I'm in the John Deacon camp with regards to the band. Without Freddie there is no Queen. That may not be a popular opinion, but it's how I feel.
Going back a bit the discussion of "beards"...In the late 70's I was a beard for a few of my gay friends. It made dealing with family and social functions easier for them during a time when being out was just not accepted in some parts of the country. They were (and still are) very dear to me and I never resented playing that role. It was a bit awkward holding my tongue when a kindly grandmother would ask if we had plans for a wedding and children. I'm glad that times have changed enough that they can be who they are publicly and privately.

Katy I could watch Freddie talk all day, there was just something about him.
The Black Quuens Kid ... I totally understand you, if I am honest I don't think I could watch queen with Adam but that isn't because I dislike Adam, its just that Queen for me is Freddie and the guys. However, the film has brought lots of new young fans who will enjoy the concerts with Adam. It gives them a chance to see Roger and Brian and listen to their music.
I too am glad times have changed in many parts of the world .. However, there has been a story in the news in the UK which is very disturbing. In Brunei homosexuality is now punishable by being stoned to death. Awful and disgusting .
