"I know Freddie left St. Peter's without sitting his O Levels, but perhaps he studied and sat for them at the school he attended when he returned to Zanzibar ?"
That's my best guess too, thanks for the extra info!

Yes, please Shaun! Don't go! We love Freddie, and all his lovely, loyal friends past and present.
To quote Freddie "bring it back, bring it back, don't take it away from me (us)" ! :-) Pretty, pretty please with sprinkles on top!
Hope I didn't offend anyone with my accent "lecture" it's just a pet-hate thing for me. :-)
Whatever qualifications Freddie did or didn't have he was a bloody genius, and his intellect was no less than his 3 bandmates. His genius was just directed differenty.
Doughnut, I love West Country accents. They are warm and friendly.
I hail from Birmingham, but I don't have the classic Birmingham accent. It's more tempered with "proper English" as that's the sort of direction I was encouraged toward in pronunciation.
Yes, G.C.S.E.'s are a real bugger nowadays aren't they, and still the media tries to dumb them down saying too many students are achieving high pass grades! Perhaps that's because they study hard !!! Hope your daughter got great grades and that they serve her we'll in life!
Cheers all!

Doughnut!
I guessed you were British as you spell Doughnut properly! *LOL*
I realised my error ! I quickly read Essex as Exeter! Doh! :-/
Hence my West Country comment. But hey, there is nothing wrong with accents from the South East either!
In fact It think that it's great that television in the UK now reflects all the regional accents these days (though there is something of an obsession the BBC have with North West i.e. Mancunian accents!) It's nice to have the full cornucopia of accents broadcast rather than just the old BBC English, whose 'plummy' English made even Her Majesty sound "common" *LOL*.
I think nearly everybody's favourite is Geordie! Somehow they always sound friendly and fun! No wonder the Government based HMRC (Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs- ....Inland Revenue!) in Newcastle upon Tyne! Those Geordie accents soften the blow of being told you owe them thousands in tax shortfall ! :-)
Sorry I got confused!

Galileo1564 Thank you for that link. Nice to see the actual article.
Lovely photo of Freddie.
I was curious as she said the photo dated from a time when Freddie lived at home with the family.
This was also the photo used on BBC Breakfast TV when Sam, Freddie's nephew was interviewed around the time if the film release.
Hope Kash is happy and contented. Glad she has her daughter and son.

I dont see Freddie afraid of too much he looks like he enjoyed his life friends , holidays, and such.
Yes, I don't believe the dear of flying thing either. Peter Freestone only reports that Freddie refused to fly on a DC-10 after a spare of accidents involving these planes, and that he wasn't particularly enamoured of flying in helicopters. If that is so he made a good job of covering any discomfort! In fact amount seemed more nervous- at least if exiting the helicopter when he almost limboed to avoid the blades ! *LOL* !
I know that like me, he was a bit of an arachnophobe, as reported by Jim Hutton in Mercury and Me, but he, also like me, wouldn't kill them (I have a special device for removing them a long handle with perspex cup with a sliding door) They are "escorted" outdoors unharmed!

Fear not dear! I'm plagued by typographical errors!
FreddieDarling ha ha yes it's Doughnut; not the american way which has completely escaped my mind how to spell. When I signed up I didn't realize I would be just 'doughnut'. I call myself Debbiedoughnuts. Thor kindly pointed out to me that there is a brand of cakes in the US called 'little debbie'. I love this lol.
Was it you and another member I saw recently having a disagreement with a troll on another thread ? If it was I thought you did very well !!!
Yep I'm from Essex but I do like the West Country accent and the Gordie too. Funnily enough the Irish accent is a fav, the Dublin area accent. I can't remember if it was Lee or Thor that said during the magic tour Jim Hutton had a few drinks and he was having trouble understanding him. That made me chuckle as some Irish accents are very strong.
Also I do want a Freddie pop figure.....I have seen one from the tour where he is wearing the white tights with black arrows on but its not in the UK. I think that might be from Rock in Rio or the tour in 1985, Japan etc. Where did you order your one from ? My family already think I am queen/Freddie mad. I did get a Freddie magic tour keyring for Mothers day :)
Hope everyone else is well :)

Yes everytime I think of Doughnuts name I think of my favorite Doughnut maple and bacon.
FreddieDarling I have sent you a PM about the pop figure
Hi
Yes DONUT is no way to spell one of my favourite jammy cakes! *LOL* my favourite are mandazi which are cardamom flavoured African doughnuts.
I too love Southern Irish accents, though to be honest I do struggle to understand Scottish and Irish accents when very strong, too! I have trouble with Black Country (which is the na!e of an industrial region adjacent to where I live),too as they are only a stone's throw away!
I pre-ordered my Freddie Wembley '86 Funko figure in November from Amazon. Kept getting delayed, but they FINALLY released him! Though I think Amazon have some of the first sticks as the only listing in there right now is from a marketplace seller priced at over £45! I paid only £12.99. If you have a Forbidden Planet shop near you you might get one at a similar price there. Their website has them listed at £9.99 + postage.
I also love the Hot Space tour Freddie , they're calling him the glitter model. Model number is 97. Cheapest I've seen him is on eBay.co.uk £26.99 plus, I think £3.99 p&p! Expensive!
What was the discussion about between the person and a troll? Was it in YouTube? If it was QueenZone I tend not to engage with the hairy, big nosed bridge dwelling types we occasionally get here. They seem to feed in interaction, and fade away and either if ignored! ... Ha Ha!
Hope everyone has had a good day! For the Monday -Friday crowd, hey we're 2/5 done! Which reminds me I saw a wonderfully funny badge for sale on eBay! Its divided into top half yellow bottom half black. Too of the badge says "5 Data With You Twats" bottom half says "2 Days Of Bliss"! I wish I had the balls to wear one at work ! LMAO !!
