I remember back in the 80s I had a Michael Jackson doll he had his glove on he looked so fine.I loved that doll.
I just want to say that I went to a similar school in India (as Freddie -- though, a girls' school) but that was in the 70s and we didn't have the British A/O levels anymore then. I came to the States before I took the ICSE.
Re accents, I definitely detect what in India is called the "convent-school-accent" on Freddie mixed in with his "RP" ;)
My "convent-school-accent" (and my brother's) underwent a radical change about six months after we came to the States (I was in 10th grade) and got loaded and reloaded with a North Jersey (and then a mid-Atlantic for me as I moved to DC for univ and work) one as the years went by...
Most of my cousins and their kids in India seem to have that convent accent. It basically comes from the English medium schools.

Indy, I love the way the English talk it fascinates me.Im from Oklahoma and we sound like a bunch of hillbilly but we do our best.We are really slow talking where the English to me talk fast I cant keep up.

Thank you Indy for your insights. Very interesting perspective. I sometimes feel that's Freddie's accent was a little mixed with a touch of Gujarati accent occasionally, too. Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel that he had a certain 'clipped' quality to some words

Doughnut, thank you for your kind words! Nice to hear! Sometimes my eccentric, sarcastic humour can be a bit hard for people to understand, but it's nice to know that I haven't offended (which is never my intention!) You are a wonderfully fun person too!
On the whole this group are a lovely bunch of fair minded, open, accepting people. If the world as a whole had as few bigoted people as this Thread, it'd be a far more harmonious one!

M'k those tech-savvy Freddie fans out there, I need some advice. The great Kathleen herself tried for about half an hour to get into my live on Instagram for our tech check and I could send him a request to join the audio and video part, but he said all that appeared on his end was a blue bar of some sort. He would click "accept" and then everything would just drop for him. He did say he could hear me but that my voice was coming in and out. I'm like 99% sure thats a wifi issue, ammi'right? Anyone techy able to confirm?

FreddieDarling - You are so right about this group. It's nice communicating with people all over the world with shared interests. I have learned so much and not just about Freddie. I remember years ago trying to find "penpals" for my students across the states as well as in different countries. Now I'm sitting here in the comfort of my own home sending out a message going to who knows where!! :)

FreddieDarling, is the Hot Space Tour Funko figure you talked about wearing the silver glitter leotard? I haven't seen that one yet, and that's my favorite early Freddie costume. I looked on Amazon but they don't have it and couldn't find it on Google either.
Interesting discussion on accents! Some people love men in uniforms, I like men with accents! Loved Jim's Irish accent, and I could listen to Mack forever. Freddie's was lovely. The Peppa Pig cartoon is very popular in the US and as a result some young children have picked up that accent. I once asked my granddaughter to clean up a mess she'd made and she said, "I simply cahn't" I lived in New Jersey for a long time, but don't have the accent, same with living in Buffalo, NY. One year in Louisiana didn't affect me much once we moved out. True Cajun accents in Louisiana can be difficult to understand. I think I'm kind of generic. I do have a few regional words that can get in my way. For example when we first moved here I asked someone for a diet soda, and they asked me if I meant soda water. I've learned that in the Midwest, it's not soda, it's pop. I find regional accents, food, customs, etc. so interesting.

Villiers that's a classic low wifi situation. If your followers could hear you fine but Lee couldn't then it's his wifi that was not stable enough at the time. Assuming the app is updated in his phone that is.
