Thoughts on Thor Arnold and Lee Nolan's eleven year friendship with Freddie

Oh boy, let's hit pause and then rewind a bit lol. Number one: (and this is not intended to offend anyone here) but I gotta say, personally, I'm not onboard with calling people out by name as I for one can totally understand not wanting my personal and fan accounts to cross. Be it for work reasons or personal, if she does not wish to reveal who she is, no problem and we should all let that be.
Two: I understand both sides here and they're both valid. On one hand, she was only joking and as someone who has chatted with her via live in the past I feel confident in saying she is indeed a fan and does not say anything intending to disrespect anyone from Freddie's life. On one other hand, some find her jokes raunchy and I can totally understand that as well. I think even she would have to admit, some of the stuff she jokes about is a bit edgy. Edgier than I would ever dare to go, but not ill intentioned.
This fandom has enough negativity in it, though. So if it's all the same to you guys, what do you say everyone just shakes it off and agrees to disagree on this person's humor and get back to the topic at hand- Thor's achin' bathroom lol. Hang in there, Thor!

I so dislike the Instagram platform in general. The platform is a mess with the way they've expanded the software capabilities (and I'm speaking as a tech product manager & product designer). Instagram is not a good platform for any kind of discussion, as it was built to post photos, not get into discussions. I personally find it a frustrating product to use.

As for rudeness and the feeling like you've sunk to the bottom of the barrel seeing the content you describe, this occurs on all social media, not only Instagram, and I guess you could say this is the 'downside' to the unleashing of everyone's inner thoughts that comes with anonymity behind a screen. You're sure to see all kinds of content, from the brilliant to the vile.

I have to disagree Never Too Late. I have seen a number of brilliant discussions through Instagram live. On all things from Freddie Mercury to World War 2 and politics. It all depends on the account you're following. Some people will get on and waste time and make into a sloppy mess but others can actually make it a pretty successful venture.

Villiers I totally get you but bullying is a strong word and should not be thrown around so easily.
We are all entitled to our opinion here and on this one I am with Shaun...sorry.

I have found this group of people to be very friendly, witty and just lovely and I enjoy chatting, sometimes it random but it's nice. This is why I don't understand why she didn't feel comfortable to just say ' yes that is my account and I didn't mean any harm, I appreciate you are a different generation to me and I didn't mean any offence'.

It would have been over and done with then .

My heart goes out to you, Thor! Water is, like fire, a great servant but a terrible master! I do hope your plumbing issues are soon sorted out, and I'm praying for a horizontal problem and not a vertical one!

Regarding the disrespectful person who has been commenting elsewhere about Freddie and Jim, well sadly there are some people who seem only interested in Freddie for their salacious imaginings. Childish in the extreme, but there you have it!

Personally I don't care who he slept with or what they did. He was thoroughly fascinating in so many more ways and I don't need to know about his sex life for him to hold a spell over me.

Plus, I have more respect for him, and his friends and lovers, than to speculate about details.

Doughnut, definitely. I don't think either side was wrong. Both had valid points of view and having spent a few weeks talking with both people, I found them both to be pleasant so I didn't want to overstep her privacy boundaries, or belittle Shaun's feelings on the matter.

Well, everybody that was a lot of words being said.I hope she didnt mean it in the way it may look to others.Thats the problem with Instagram I think Freddie would be horrified at all the pics videos and stories out there on him today.He was very private from what I keep hearing from friends .Phoebe knows alot about him and I just dont think he would be thrilled about a film portraying his life story either.So I guess it's ok it was like a Cinderella story because I think he would hate the truth being told .Yes I know of his statement that he wanted a story told of his life warts and all but did he really.

I wasn't talking about "messiness" in terms of content, but only in terms of the *platform*. And by platform I'm talking about not the content but the software and the "user experience" of the app. Yes, one can find *brilliant* content despite the platform software.

I hope we continue "bailing" on this serious but unfortunate conversation ... For Thor's sake ...

Hopefully, my behavior on this site will improve. I suppose I should tone down or eliminate my negativity about the movie and the Queen Machine.

My generation back in 1992 didnt have the internet it was in its infancy.We as teenagers and young adults didnt have all this technology.The question is could we survive without it now.

Chevyman....I really don't know if Freddie would or wouldn't have liked the film being made, it's hard to say when you don't know the person. However, many famous people have films made about them and books written. As long as they are factual and not just gossiping bullshit it's a great way to find out about the person and keep their memory alive in history.

Wow that's a lot of new posts and drama since I last joined in....I'm sorry for your bathroom nightmare, Thor. I truly hope it gets fixed soon and that the costs don't end up being your responsibility.

I haven't looked at the controversial instagram page, so I can't comment on the content, but I will say that whoever posts publicly should be ready for people to have and express opinions about it (hopefully in a civil way, which has been the case here). If that alone makes you feel bullied, then perhaps posting on a public platform isn't for you.
