And you did whine about having to sign a NDA as if that was something nefarious or unfair. NDA’s are common place, and that you posited it as something suspicious is dishonest.

Very true. But since Jim Hutton was the first one in Freddie’s circle to write a book to make money off of him, some of the lies and private details are out there for all eternity now.
The least we can do is do our best to correct the record where we can.
Unlike Prenter, Hutton waited until Freddie was dead so Freddie wasn't around to speak up for himself.
I don't see this big love between Freddie and Jim in fact Freddie didn't want him (and his objects) in his bedroom during the last year of his life and Jim went to a couple of particular nightclubs when Freddie was very ill. I don't know why fans talk about the gay thing and about his 'beards' - Freddie talked about his sexuality in a couple of interviews and It was clear that he liked men and women. The audience knew about the men in his life...he didn't need a 'beard'. He wasn't gay or bisexual - he didn't like the labels. He loved women and men...their souls not their bodies. I noticed a particular things about the GL. Joe, Barbara and Jim had a bedroom there and Mary her office (Phoebe's ex bedroom). - so his house was full of his lovers - Phoebe wasn't one of them so he had to sleep in the Mews.

Well I've read this thread up to page 74 so far, and as I had a feeling itmight run on forever thought I'd skip to the last page to say hello to everyone, especially to Thor and Leeo. I don't know when they last contributedcomments, but what I've read so far I've enjoyed immensely.
So imaginemy disappointment to see that the final page at least is anti Jim Hutton speak. I'm very saddened by this, and it's sort of taken the edge off my happiness at finally being able to introduce myself.
I've been a member at QZ for a number of years, but it is only recently that I've actually taken the time to start reading such a long and fully established thread. I will return to page 75, and hope that I will be able to enjoy the majority of the comments made in the remainder of the thread.

What a shame that you are saddened. Clearly it's everyone’s job to entertain and please you regardless of truth or facts, it's important to sweep any unpleasantness under the rug.

Jim was hurt by that as he said he told her as Mr.Mercury was dying that he would be there for her should she need him. I do hope they buried the hatchet but as I said, Jim never told me as much. Over the years our conversations stuck to his health his family and lovely garden. The house he and Mr.Mercury built together was brilliant. He told me it was just Mr.Mercury's taste. Anyone who believes Freddie EVER expected Mary to adopt 3 grown ass men and continue to pay their way until they ”felt” like leaving are beyond easily bamboozled.
Really? You REALLY buy that Freddie expected a heavily pregnant Mary with a toddler and a baby daddy to financially support 3 middle aged men indefinitely? Especially since Freddie had bought the three of them homes so they would have a place to go?
I mean, I know that Freddie knew that Mary was very dedicated to him. But Freddie would never be that thoughtless to expect that if her, especially given the circumstances.
Jim LIED about that, and Phoebe has since come out and confirmed that it wasn't at all like Hutton claimed.
If those three men REALLY WERE thinking they were ENTITLED to have Mary coddle and adopt them in the wake of Freddie’s death, they were extremely unreasonable selfish.

It is CRAZY THINKING to believe that Mary, who had an at-risk pregnancy, and a toddler to care for, not to mention continue to manage Freddie’s estate, and who had lost her best friend of over two decades... was supposed to be thinking of Joe Jim and Phoebe’s wishes above her own immediate needs.
They were three middle aged men that were more than aware for weeks and months that Freddie’s end was relatively near and had plenty of time to think of arranging for their futures. Freddie had given them homes to move to. That ANYONE thinks Mary was indebted to go above and beyond what Freddie provided is absolutely absurd.

Jim Beach manages the Trust for 50 years at which point, the Trust will ”vest” in the named beneficiaries (whoever is still alive), and they will from then on have the responsibility for managing their own portion of the trust. If no one is alive (including Kash’s children) on Nov 24, 2041, the trust goes to named charities.
I would be glad to see it go to charities when no one needs it any longer . He was such a generous man I think that would be a great way for any money to be used.
