I doubt it'll be for charity. They haven't mentioned anything about it. I don't think any of the Freddie books out there go to charity either.

I'd like to see at least some profit go to the MPT. If you're gonna write about Fred, it's only fair to give a piece to his AIDS charity.

I agree. I do hope that nobody is naive enough to think that the idea of a book is new to them. Where better to do market research and assess demand?

I have no doubt that what they'll print is the truth. However I do think it's shitty how they ended this. They couldn't have made it more clear that their focus was cash. Keep in mind Freestone has plenty of books out on his own. But even he still answers questions through his blog. They cut off all communication and the few people i do speak to who have gotten private responses from them have all said they keep responses short. I'm disappointed but at least there will be a fact checked book out there. Those are rare.

Very well said Dustin and I also agree with the other posters. I can't quite understand why are you arguing because you seem to have the same opinion?

It feels like something happened during this thread? Like someone suddenly said "why are you telling those stories over there when you could make some money with it"? Everything happened so quickly.

Many of Thor's anecdotes were nice and interesting but I kinda felt that the well was pretty dry at the end. At times it really felt more like fans educating them about Freddie.

They are not obligated to post here or to tell us what's going on, but I honestly feel like this didn't end right. If that's true what Dustin is telling us, that they only give quick and short answers to their biggest admirers, then that also sounds pretty sad.

Honestly, why should we feel entitled to anything from anybody? Thor and Lee gave us so many amazing anecdotes about Freddie and freely shared their memories of him. They took a lot of time to patiently respond to each of our questions - even the silly ones. So, I am very grateful for whatever time they shared with us. And that is not called 'kissing butt' - that is called 'being appreciative'.

Thor and Lee both send very lovely messages to most of us. But naturally they are busy with their lives, as are we.

Here is something Thor wrote to me after seeing the negativity here these past few days. So, to set the record straight, here are Thor's own words (with his permission).
"I arrived on QZ purely by accident after Googling my own name. I wanted to set the record straight that I was not Freddie's lover but close friend. To think that I was doing market research is absurd. Lee has preserved his pictures for over 30 years and we did not ever speak of making money off of them. We did the "Freddie's Loves" documentary because we thought it would shed light on the real Freddie namely the person and the friend who we wanted to share with the world. We did not make any money for our appearance, but we got one night stay at the Beverly Hilton and a lunch. We were disappointed in the finished product.

After encouragement from some wonderful people, and the fact that I was spending many hours a day answering questions, Lee and I decided to give it a go and again attempt to shed light on the side of Freddie that most people probably don't know.

The haters need conspiracy theories to spread their negativity and share their misery.

We are considering a return to the thread in the future but as for now the LAST thing we need is discouragement about our project."

Lee doesn't message anyone. You have to know how silly you sound when you talk about not kissing butt...you Noorie were the Queen of butt kissing here. With that fake uncle story, it did get old pretty quick.

I'm amazed to see that this thread is still gaining comments. What's left to talk about? I'm excited for the book. Let's just look forward. Regardless of what you think the thread was, it's over now and there's a book coming out of it. Someone else said it best when they said at the very least we can all get pumped about there being another book that comes from a direct source to Freddie. Those are indeed very rare.

Lol so you count the messages from Lee like that makes you the special one? My friend villers here is on his personal Facebook page and he doesn't add strangers apparently. If you're playing a lame tit for tat game, I think you just lost with that fact. He messaged everyone a few times before he left the thread. You messaging him on your own to ask questions doesnt count as him reaching out to you to be his friend or confidant. You're not special Noorie. Your uncle never knew Freddie and you don't have any unique insight on Freddie because you claim to be Persian too. Nobody cares.

Lol I've never bothered to count how many messages I got from Lee...not sure why anyone would care. Both of them have messaged nearly all of us. These are regular people, guys- not Christ almighty. Its not that crucial lol.
