FreddieDarling,
I agree with your comment that Freddie is fascinating without the need for any embellishment.
Our book certainly highlights this.

Bleeding typos! Grrr ! :-(. why are my messages always full of typos ?
Hi Thor,
Thought I would squeeze in a simple question before you left...What Queen songs did you most enjoy hearing Freddie sing when you attended his concerts? Sadly, I never saw him perform live, thus my picks are limited to what I've seen in concert videos. I don't think I could select a favorite Queen song...but overall, I really enjoy the 70's stuff. Not necessarily the songs that charted, but things like "March of the Black Queen" "White Queen" and "The Prophets Song" are amazing.

Thor, I have a question about concerts too. Of the ones you went to, were there opening bands or was it all Queen? Did Freddie go to and/or take y’all to other bands concerts?
Hey Rainbow,
That's a hard question because I became real tuned in to the Queen songs of the '80s and so they
get my vote, basically the entire Live Aid songs. Early Queen I find wonderful but I don't tend to
hum those tunes...they were rocky while I was discoish (forgive me). The later songs (other than
the solo adventures) made me happy but as time went on, made me choke-up because I knew
Freddie's fate. "These are the Days of Our Lives" in particular and I get goose-bumps every time
I listen to it and look at Freddie's courage in this last effort. Oh my God, I just shed a tear writing
this.

All...I must close for now. I will personally bring Lee your holiday wishes.
I will be back for sure by Tues. Nov. 27th.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL (even if you are not American)
Love, Thor and Lee

I find it quite funny to say that Freddie was too classy for some bathrooms. He did after all visit the most notorius clubs in New York and he wasn't there to play some cards. The New York scene feom the 80's is well documented and I find it hard to believe Freddie and his friends just hang around all sitting together at some table? I think it's pretty safe bet that he went to those darkrooms etc. they had in there.
Clubs and public toilets are different Mr. M and they have been around forever but, The Freddie, I knew
met enough people in bars and good clubs like "The Saint." to fill his time. I still miss that place - half
dance floor, half planetarium. Freddie was young then, he didn't need servicing by large, older men.
If you've been to them, well good for you, but they are not everyone's taste. I would know if Freddie
went to these places...they existed in New York for sure. In those days he kept NO secrets from his
close friends. Also, Freddie was always chaperoned by Peter Freestone and if you think dear Phoebe
would watch the restroom door while Freddie was lusting after old men, you are so wrong. Not all
gays want those types of encounters and I am one of them.
Leaving all this behind I'd like to get my Thanksgiving mood back...Bye-bye all.

One of the many things I am grateful for this Thanksgiving is that someone named Freddie Mercury blessed this world with his amazing talent. Safe travels to you Thor. Give my best to Lee.
Oh yes, I forgot it's the fan club and no different views or even theories allowed. Have to remember that next time.
First of all no one is even talking about Freddie looking for some grand dads in restrooms. The point is that it's comical to say he was too classy to visit restrooms when he spend several years in the New York clubs. It's like saying someone is too classy to eat at Wendy's, when they eat all the time at the Olive Garden.
And to be brutally honest with you, I can think of crazier things than Phoebe watching the restroom door while Freddie was spending his time there.
