I listened to the stream and it sounded just like always. The only place that was different was when he didn't go for a few of the high stratospheric notes like in WWTLF. He chose to go down instead of up and there were a few other songs. It actually sounded really good, just different and unless you know how he sings a particular sing, the average concert goer would not notice it. I didn't feel that the rest of the songs were marginalized in any way. He sounded wonderful as usual. If that is how you sing with a cold, I don't know. I can barely croak! I am sure he had a cold, allergies or something beccause he talked of getting the throat and cold lozenges on his Snap Chat that same afternoon.. Let's hope this resolves quickly as I am sure it must be unpleasant to have to sing through a cold or illness. I don't know how singers manage but I guess that is what makes them professionals.

Two FUX was never going to be a hit song but I thought it was lighthearted and delightful on the live stage! Couldn’t be appreciated on video or stream.

Didn't see it live since they dropped it before the UK leg, so maybe it worked better live but I just didn't like the song full stop. Love Lucy though but I haven't listened to any of the show yet except the bit Brian posted on Twitter (LOML) so not sure how that one worked out. Tbh I don't watch streams and I don't watch that many video's, having seen them live I find the vids just don't capture his voice as well as it really sounds. Think I'm sensitive to nuances, I watched the show on video that I went to live and there was a world of difference.

I actually saw Foreigner live a few weeks ago, and when I checked the vid of the show on YouTube, same thing it didn't sound like it did live. I'd checked them out on YouTube previously and was a bit dubious but he was incredible, really powerful voice, hits all the notes and even though in the vid you can sort of tell that, it still sounded odd. Not sure what the reason is, I guess some people's voices just don't translate well.

It is funny that Icy thinks I am some kind of ultimate Glambert that defends AL at all costs and bigs him up (her words not mine!!) and loves everything he does. That is so far from the truth. To be honest, I would prefer him to sing Classical or even Operal. Like Brancelli, I think he has a marvelous voice. It touches me and I am in awe of his technique, but that voice is wasted on much of the music he sings. I listen to his music and I always enjoy his music (Glam Nation was my fav album) and I purchase all his music to listen to that voice. But I would be much happier if he sang something like "The prayer",the song from Brigadoon, or even a "Change is Going to Come". But as a fan you can only listen to what he has recorded and I make due with that. It's not that I don't like it, but I think he could do so much more with that voice. The reason I like him singing with Queen is because their music has depth and versatility and only phenomenal singers can sing their music. Adam gets to stretch out his voice and actually challenge it. Most of his music anyone can sing (although he does it best!). To me Queen;s music and Adam's voice is a match made in heaven because he uses every tool in his vocal arsenal to make it work. WWTLF and Save Me are beautiful renditions where the music equals the voice, not like Adam's own music where the music is nowhere equal to the voice. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone, but that is how I feel.

I also don't care how Adam looks, Icy. But for a performer good looks are always an asset. You keep misconstruing that, but that is your problem not mine. I also think there are a lot of decisions that he has made that certainly did not do him any favors, but it is his life and young people learn thru their mistakes, so to say I support everything is just not true. But I am not going to debate what I think were errors here on this board.

My last point has to do with something Icy said in another thread this morning, but I don't feel like posting there again. It was about how no one on a Queen board would ever make gay remarks about Adam because Freddie was gay. Your reading comprehension must be subpar because I can remember many such remarks in the past on QOL. Does Fairy Dandy come to mind, Icy? I was always appalled because I don't get how Queen fans could accept Freddie's being gay, but bash Adam for it. Many of the remarks are extremely crude and it isn't just on Queen boards, but I have also seen it from Queen fans elsewhere. I never could quite figure that one out.

To sum it up, while Adam is my favoite performer, there are many things that I think he could be doing differently, but it is his life, his music and I can only sit back and enjoy what he puts out there for me to enjoy. I also think that once QAL is over he will have a great career doing many other things. Why would anyone not want to sing with Brian and Roger? Saying No would be stupid. He loves them and loves performing with them. He is having a blast. He is also earning millions of dollars which will set him up later in life to do just what he wants to. I am sure we will see him on Broadway someday and on TV. I would be willing to bet he is never going to fade away. He is a hard working, mega talented, very intelligent young man who is extremely kind to others and that will set him up to be successful once QAL is over. I would bet on it. Here it is 10 years after Idol and he is stronger than ever in spite of folks predicting his demise weekly. I have no worries about Adam or his future.[/QUOTE]

Snifflese, I will quote to reply to you later ok. Errands to run.
Crap, I wish I had AL's energy. No joke.

No, you aren't the ultimate Glambert and AL defender. That goes to sweetcaroline without a doubt and it's not a good thing in my books ;-). But you are sweetcarolines defender...no doubt about that either. Yes, I've been harsh but she has as well. Comparing me to Trump is one recent tactic of hers. No Queen fan I've ever known deserves to be compared to Donald Trump. She hates Trump, I figure, and she may hate me as well enough to be compared to him. Just realise she has posted her fair share of crap throwing as well. I admit/ted I have, she likely never will.
Never say never about AL never going down the oprea and classical route. He very well could. Not meaning to compare, but even Freddie went down the pop oprea route for Barcelona...a dream come true for him.
I respect you for being honest that you don't like Whataya Want From Me. It's realistic not to like every little thing a person says and does. Believe me, some things Freddie did were just awful, IMO. For me Freddie's vocals on Put Out The Fire are just God awful. I absolutely hate that song. I don't think I ever could like it. To me, it's not very realistic to say everything is perfect, magnificent, especially when it's clear it's not. But if people want to love that bubble and then be upset when others don't see it that way...that's something else. I'd have more respect for sweetcaroline/CNB if she could say there's at least one thing in the past few years that AL did or sang that she didn't like or enjoy. I get crapped on for saying I like AL singing Save Me. I gave a bit of praise for PTG from the first show, all there what's been posted about my liking it. I can't please everyone...and nor would I want to please everyone. I have a mind of my own and I'm not afraid to use it and say how I feel. More than my heart is on my sleeve.
The music world lost some music giants in recent years. David Bowie, George Michael and Michael Jackson tore me to bits and still does at times. Good for you that you think AL will never fade away. I never thought Bowie, GM and MJ would pass away so suddenly and unexpectedly. And all the celebrities these days who are ending their own lives. It hits home. Despite my many misgivings about some of what Brian May has done these last few years, make no mistake I'm glad he and Roger are still with us. The fact that Freddie's, Queen's, Bowie's, George Michael's, MJs music is still living on gives me great comfort. I wish they were still with us. I go back to listen to their music, it can and still blows me away.
All the money and love in the world can't save people. That's been proven IRL and the celebritiy world time and time again.
I doubt AL would have lasted these 9 years without Brian and Roger. His solo music hasn't set the world alight, I think it's safe to say.

I have never liked Whataya Want From Me and will never understand why that song got the Grammy nomination. Maybe because Pink wrote it?

Icy, if you liked the Play the Game in the first show, the second show today was much, much better. Maybe it had to do with his throat issue, but there was a world of difference with the vibratto. There was too much the first time, but it was really nice and smooth today. I just listened to it in someone's recording and it is quite nice! Most of his high notes were back (didn't get to listen to last two songs) even that high E in UP. He went for the majority of the notes in WWTLF, just went down on one or two right at the end. He must be feeling better. Personally I think WWTLF and TSMGO is a little much in such a short time, esp if one is under the weather. Even if one is feeling chipper. I might rethink TSMGO if I were him as that is a lot of stress on the vocal cords with all the other singing! However, he must have been working on it as it sounds a whole lot better than last season. Sometimes there was something a little bit off, but it is much improved this time around.

I caught up on PTG. Yep, it was better than the first show. I will catch up on the other songs/videos later tonight. Bad storms coming through, I'm hoping the electricity doesn't end up getting knocked out. Actually, I'm in a bit of a pancake, because my moms on oxygen and I gotta keep an eye on her. Will catch up on the other videos soon.
If I sound like a mess, apologies, stressed at the moment.

Hope all will be well, Icy, What a difficult thing to be dealing with. I hope an electrical disruption is not something you have to deal with all the time! My Dad lived on a street where just that one street lost power quite often. It was about 10 houses out of 50 and the rest never had a problem. Often it would take 2-3 days to reestablish the connection. We worried about him so much! He lived 9 hours from me so I was always calling to make sure all was well!! Luckily it always was! Good luck with your MoM.

Genuine thanks for this. The past year and a couple of days has been the hardest of my life. I ran around like a chicken with it's head cut off during the storm earlier today. All is well. Electricity didn't go out thankfully. My family and this city is ok...others not so fortunate.
I know the worry about family being far away. My extended family lives in other provinces. My phone bills are huge...thank gosh for Facebook.
I honestly haven't been able to watch the rest of the show. I'm hoping tomorrow I can catch up. In the meantime, I have to catch up on sleep, which I've not been doing lately. I'm about to crash and burn any second. Goodnight.

I do not know anything about Adam’s record label status at WB but it disturbs me what this guy has to do to prove himself.

I’m wondering if due to his Queen connection he might have something cooking at Hollywood Records, a division of Universal Music Group.

I’ve been saying for 9 years that his live performances are different and more dynamic than his recorded ones. His powerful voice is meant to hit the rafters and not be fiddled with by autotuning!

Icy, can you not get long distance phone rates from where you are? I have Cox and I can call everywhere in the US, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and my bill is below $40 for a landline. There are some cell phone plans for unlimited calling and they can be reasonable also. Maybe Canada is different, but here the phone calling charges are usually was less than internet or cable.

Yep, but even that adds up. It's in a bundle with cable and internet, God forbid if I go over the data on my phone and internet.

He is no longer on the WB site. To me, that means he left or was dropped.
What does he have to do? What he should do is his solo music. A bit of hope came when he didn't appear on Idol this year, but there was nothing to promote, but I'm hoping it meant he is leaving Idol behind.
I don't know if Hollywood Records is in the cards for him, but I actually hope not. That would be him riding on his Queen coattails once again, IMO. The label SafeHouse could be a better choice for him, even if that means he will be label mates with Demi and Nick.

Well maybe the record company execs finally realized that this guy has nothing to offer: Annoying voice-annoying personality- not being able to write a song. WIthout Maylor he would already be one of those long forgotten AI victims
