The Ring of Fire was quite intriguing and I wasn't quite sure what to think when I first heard it! I loved the way it was changed up and his voice was lovely in the singing of it, but it was just so different from Cash's that I really had to stop to think about it. I listened to it several times and at the end of the day I did decide I liked it. I think this performance made me notice Adam and his wonderful voice much more than Satisfaction did. That one was perhaps a little shouty. Adam stood out more for me in the competition after that performance. My favorite performance was Feeling Good and A Change is going to come, but there was honestly no performance that I thought subpar or that I didn't like. Each one showed a different side of him and his vocals.
Girl Crush is one of my favorites. That performance was dynamite. As I said, I am not a fan of country, but that song doesn't sound country to me. I must have watched it 10 times. His voice is just suited to that kind of music. I liked the outfit and the gal he sang with. It was such a classic performance. I also loved him singing Titanium with Angie on Idol. He just lifted her voice up and supported her and it was exquisite. I think he is a wonderful duet partner. The only one I didn't like was the last Melissa Etheridge performance. It sounded not at all rehearsed and their voices didn't mesh at all. I was surprised as I thought he normally had things well planned, but that one was by the seat of their pants! It was a very unusual performance from him. I was disappointed!

I am not sure why you once again have to call Caroline F'ed Up???? To be honest I find Sam Smith's music terribly depressing. The melodies are like dirges and his falsetto is not my favorite. I prefer Adele's music, but have never bought anything of hers, not that I dislike her or Sam, but the music doesn't speak to me. Like Caroline, I do find it a little slow and one note. I know they are terribly popular, but everyone is different. Just as you are not that fond of Adam, they don't do much for me. I like some slower songs, but I do find Sam's stuff mournful. My husband, who is a country fan, heard it playing on the radio while driving and wanted to know if a cat was being strangled? I really had to laugh and I thought there are fans for every type of music. I personally hate country music!!!
Why? Because of what she posts at times. One example above. For no other reason she knows I like Sam Smith's and Adele's music.
I don't mind you not liking Sam Smith, I have no problem there, in fact how your husband described him is funny. I disagree, but it's funny. Tell hm thanks from a Sam fan ;-).
I think there's room enough for every taste n the music world. I like Adele and Sam Smith because I love their voices and lyrics. I have really connected with it. I'm sure you have connected with AL songs, but I wouldn't assume it's because you are down trodden, negative etc.
What did you thing about Ring of fire and Girl Crush when AL covered those songs?
I loved the Girl Crush cover but tbh I had to agree with Simon on the Ring of Fire, thought it was absolute rubbish, and further listening didn't improve it for me. Loads of people seemed to love it but I really hated it, probably more than any other song he's done. Just shows music is very subjective, even with the same artist.

Yes, I agree ROF was intriguing. But not my favorite. Thinking back, I think One was my favorite cover he did on AI.
Girl Crush was good, I thought. I almost wish he'd duet with female artists more.
I hate to say this, I hated the recent duet with Melissa. That did them both favours. It seemed like it was rushed in putting together and I think the lack of rehearsing showed. It actually could have and should have been so much better.

Well said that music is very subjective even with the same artists. That goes for me and Queen/Freddie.
Appreciate your and snifflese's honesty.

Yeah I didn't like the Melissa one either, just didn't work for me. Tbh I mostly prefer him solo. I liked One, preferred the recorded version to the live but really I prefer U2 on that one, one of the few covers he's done where I prefer the original but it is one of my all time favourite songs. I really liked Change is Gonna Come and I loved the slowed version of If I Can't Have You.

That header is awful. No way is this close to being almost pure Queen.
Brian would like to more AL solo songs. So much for playing a hidden gen from the Queen catalogue.

Go away, negative Icy! You have no say until you go to a live show!

Grow up sweetcaroline. I do have a say, even with the fact I've never attended a Q+AL concert, I will state my views. It's a fact there are so many Queen songs that could be played, but instead it seems Brian would like to play AL solo songs, and IMO, that's not a good thing. I don't know what AL song they would play snce he has nothing new to promote or released.
Did I say anything offensive in my above post? No. So stop crying foul and getting upset over nothing.

Adam seems to think one of his songs is enough so hopefully we might get one or two new Queen songs, fingers crossed.

Never sng frm his solo career...more than enough. Brian and Roger couldn't even make TwoFux nto a good song. GT was good.
But there are so many more Queen songs that should be played nstead of AL solo songs.

I like some of Adam's solo stuff but not in a Queen show, the two don't go together for me, and like you say there's so many Queen songs they could include. He's been listening to Cool Cat & Tear it Up, could just be he likes them or maybe learning the lyrics. Guess we'll find out tomorrow if there's any changes.

Cool Cat could be interesting. I'd love for Q+AL to try that one.
