Paul rodgers, despite being His favorit singer, just didnt fit. He just did well on his own songs where suddenly he had the best backing band in the world.
Adam is different, a star with an amazing voice. If u cant see that quality u just are an idiot. Does he fit with queen? Not really. But withcsome songs you must be amazed about his quality. Wwtlf is i guess the best example. Adam can sing. He just doesnt pull off stc. Goflb he could;) imagine pr singing that ;)

Do you really believe that PR was Freddie's favorite singer? As much as I like Paul and really like Freddie, I don't believe it.
I still prefer Q+PR over Q+AL. With Q+PR at least it was about the music, and not the gimmicks.
I love what PR brought to Queen music, it was better live than the TCR album.
Save Me so far is my favorite Queen song I've heard AL tackle. He did very good with it for the most part. Sorry, I can't warm up to him singing WWTLF.

Icy, I don't need to know the history of Paul Rodgers or Queen to enjoy the music. Why would that cause me to like a certain piece of music more? That has nothing to do with my enjoyment of the music and for a lot of you, knowing too much, keeps you from enjoying the here and now. I don't care if Paul is of the same generation, a rock legend, or whatever, but he doesn't fit with Queen musically, from a performance aspect or with his voice. He is a dud to me on every level. The life, the whimsy, the magic was sucked out of a Queen performance when he was part of the band. I think Adam fits like a glove and fills the bill in all three categories listed above. He was magnificent today as was the band. I listened to the stream and even though I was not there, I could feel the vibe and the energy of the crowd was amazing. Dave on QOL (who has been to hundreds of QAL concerts) was there and he said this concert was the best received QAL concert so far and he really isn't too fond of Adam.
I thought the set list was great, with changes, which most of you are always lamenting about. I think singing WWTLF and TSMGO and a couple of other really high key songs is a little much, but we will see in subsequent shows. I loved the beginning and woudln't have changed a thing. I thought WWTLF was phenomenal and one of his best. It is my fav song from him probably because I am a classical and opera fan and this showcases that aspect of his voice. I also thought Lucy was great with Brian riffing throughout and fit in with the Queen vibe. So I disagree there, too, runner.
I don't appreciate the name calling, the insinuations and the general nasty tone of your remarks, runner. I wish there was a way to ban you from here because you bring nothing to the discussion.
If you can't appreciate the singing, the level of the musicianship and the wonderful show QAL puts on there is something wrong with your ears. I think there is also something wrong with your brain to write the garbage you do and your your manners, of which you have NONE!!

If you don't understand that part of the draw for an entertainer, singer, is how they look, then you are very naive. Women of all ages can see a nice looking man and say that he is hot. It is not lusting or any of the nonsense you or runner talk about, but a simple recognition of the fact. I am a lady (rockchick -not a guy) and dreamy guys are often more popular just because of looks. They certainly don't hurt. As soon as I saw Brian in that magnificent coat (with the red trim that matched Adam's red coat), I thought how adorable he still is. Unbelievable that at his age he is still so cool and darling! What is wrong with that? I also loved his guitar playing in Lucy, a perfect song for the Show!
