Zephead. Great post. I do think that was a special night and we were lucky to witness it.

I'm not really one for bootlegs and I'm sure people will tell me he made a load of bum notes that night, but he OWNED the stage, and had the audience in the palm of his hand. Even more than on the magic tour.
I am one for bootlegs, and Mercury slayed that night. One of the best nights of his career for sure.

Great post, and Zephead too ! I love reading old concert stories told in such vivid detail.

i know i would come away so sad and disgusted if i suffered 2 hours of Adam Lambert's shit. I find him so painful to watch.
You just can't let go of your anger, even when you're talking about your cherished concert experiences. It's juvenile and obnoxious. Nobody cares about how you feel about Lambert.

Except your therapist. Maybe you should consider anger management.

For the record, Hammersmith '12 had excitement and tears too. Seeing RT and BM on that famous stage was something 10 year old me waited quarter of a century to see.

Thanks guys, I enjoyed reading the other posts too. I did write that a few years ago so I should probably try to delve deeper into the memory banks and update it.

I still find it very surprising that there are no amateur photographs in circulation on the internet and only a handful of professional shots on Getty, etc. It would bring back some great memories to see some taken from inside the stadium as the afternoon wore into the evening (even just non-performance shots of the audience, capturing the relaxed vibe of the day as people enjoyed the weather).

I guess that there's a fair few shoeboxes in lofts out there containing some old polaroid's. As a naïve and non-gig going 15-year old, I didn't even consider taking a camera as per the warning on the ticket, for fear of being barred entry! If only my younger self could have known that I would turn into a prolific taper in years to come, smuggling recording gear/cameras down my jeans, etc! ;-)

"My opinions my choice. . . . So get lost". So no one is entitled to have a view other than you. You're appearing more stupid by the day, as Mr Wizard has already pointed out, even when you start what could be an interesting thread you infect it with your narrow minded hate driven crap for a person you don't know and have never witnessed perform live.

Maybe you should set up your own site with no options to reply, where you can spew your drivle in the safe notion that no one with any intelligence or interest can ever argue or put a point forward that doesnt agree with you.

That way you can carry on your hate for Lambert and the surviving members of Queen in your wonderfully blinkered world.

Those Hammersmith shows were special, if nothing else, because the thought of Queen shows after Paul Rodgers were a distant memory.

Looking back they were great to see but probably the weakest Queen shows of all. They've certainly built on what they had since then.

I was watching The Stones a couple of days ago and thinking if Freddie was still around I just couldn't see him wanting to put the effort into a full scale show like Jagger still does, so maybe we should be thankful for Lambert. . .

Another bollocks thread from Vocal Harmony. If Mercury was still here he would wipe the floor with Jagger.

VH By the way this is MY page on here and you are only a guest so instead of spouting off as per usual, sod off to another page.
This was meant to be a serious discussion until you and Wizard started slagging my posts again.
Take you sarcastic shit to jaggers site.

Nope, wrong.

I have been at this place for nearly 20 years, and most of us would prefer it to be a place of civil discussion, not mudslinging against the band.

Any time someone is an insensitive jerk, I will be there to call them an insensitive jerk (and it certainly isn't just you, so don't be feeling special).

Deal with your anger issues, and leave them off this forum, please and thank you.
