I was at Leeds it was my 5th Queen gig I was lucky to be near the front. I thought Teardrop Explodes were brilliant but disappointed that so called Queen fans, yes they were Queen fans I was there could be so narrow minded. I couldn't really get into Heart but Joan Jett was fun.

I remember Big Country having a hard time to start off with at Knebworth but they seemed to win people over quite quickly.

Leeds was probably my 4th favourite Queen gig it was certainly hot and the band were on fire....
Shadow boxing with yourself just seems to get you no where!

Yeah it was pretty pathetic that some people in the crowds spoilt the occasion by pelting bottles on stage,
At Milton Keynes a bottle just missed John Deacon and who would do that, surely not a Queen fan ?

It was actually an Adam Lambert fan and he was aiming for Freddie.

And the bottle was full of piss.

God forbid a member of your team of true Queen fans, genetically superior to the rest of music fans, be a drunken idiot at a concert.

The bottle chucked at John was probably a pissed Queen fan who was pissed off at the Hot Space material.

Then again it might have been happystar because John stood in front of Freddie for a second or two!

As stated Queen were all ready for Old Trafford until the local residents kicked up a fuss.
They complained about football crowds from August to May and the local Trafford Council bowed to pressure.
Today due to monies involved there is no way the council would listen to complaints these days concerts are regularly held at both football and cricket grounds.
Queen, of course, would play mcfc Maine road in 86, the club were presented with a plaque by Queen:

"in honour of one of the best concerts we have held, the reception we received and audience participation was unsurpassed.

I have written to mcfc but sadly the plaque seems to be lost, i still have the cutting about it from the Manchester evening news.
