As to the names you've come up with, could you please explain who is who and what led you to choosing these two monikers?[/QUOTE]
Little known fact - today's intellectual elite refer to two intelligent people as "mop and bucket".
I'm the mop, and you're the bucket.
Although I'm happy to switch roles now and again.

Just to clarify is that Mop or The Real Mop ??

Happystar 2 out of 10 for effort. Must try harder though, and refrain from copying re the single brain cell comment.

I was at the Leeds gig with my mate. I was 16.
It replaced the Old Trafford gig much to my annoyance as I lived literally across the railway from the stadium.
It was cancelled as it clashed with the Pope's visit to Manchester plus some neigbours of mine started a petition to ban the concert due to 'crowd behaviour ! Yet at the time football hooliganism was rife!

Yes , they had the same problem in London at Highbury Rd at Arsenal's ground, so that was changed to Milton Kynes.
The Popes visit almost scuppered the UK leg because there was a shortage of mobile toilets because of the crowd numbers that were expected at the Popes event over those same weeks.
Leeds was a brilliant show, but I also think Heart were really good in Leeds and Milton Kynes .

Martin : I never saw any trouble at Queen concerts and the fans were mostly well behave but i know the odd few concerts have had Freddie telling the crowds to behave and calm down. But Leeds 1982 was so special and the atmosphere was electric the stage and lighting rig looked glossy and high tech and i was so proud back them to have been a Queen fan.

So you didn't see the bottles being thrown at Julian Cope or Bow wow wow. Or read the interviews at the time in which Brian May said "the actions of some of our fans have been deplorable" . . . And he was "ashamed people like that were fans"
But there you go I guess people see and believe what they want.

VH How do you know it was Queen fans throwing the bottles? Chances are it was people who had come to check the bands out and were not Queen fans. Sure a few bottles were thrown on the stage and one nearly hit John Deacon but outside concerts are always a gamble because no one knows who is in the crowds at any given time. Was my grammer ok for you there or are you going to kick off again because ive forgotten to use a full stop somewhere???

You could be right, but how many people would go to the trouble and expense just to check bands out. I think it was probably drink led and once one starts others follow.
From where I was at Leeds I saw and clearly heard a guy in a Hot Space T shirt (so probably a fan) shouting at the mixing position to get that fucking twat off, during The Tear Drop Explodes set, he then chucked a bottle towards the stage which hit another fan on the head. Two others yelled at Ann Wilson of Heart to get her tits out. . . They were clearly Queen fans, they sang their way through most of Queen's set but shouted abused during Staying Power. There were many others both at Leedsand Milton Kynes and some European Shows too
The atmosphere at most Magic Tour shows was a lot friendlier on the whole.
Star* · Member since
Yes The Magic Tour was a lot friendlier i agree with that, but to be fair Leeds is a dog rough place and Queen were taking a chance going there.
Manchester may have been a bit better.

Without a doubt it was Queen fans. It happened to Bow Wow Wow on numerous nights in April 1982, forcing them to leave the tour.
Brian May even responded to it in numerous interviews at the time (both in print and on the radio) saying it was a portion of narrow-minded Queen fans responsible for it.

Oh my god we should all hang our heads in shame then !

happystar, you've done it again, The Real Mop has made a valid point which you don't agree with, so rather than discuss it you've used sarcasm, which I suppose is a slight improvement on your usual personally abusive replies.
"Leeds is dog rough" that's a rather sweeping statement. . . . I take it parts of the west end of Newcstle would be like living in the Tuscany countryside rather than being a crime filled hotspot.
