don't like mr bad guy album personally. I liked the job they did with IWBTLY but She Blows Hot and Cold (not on MR BG, but recorded for those sessions would have made an awesome Queen track.

For me I do love all the songs on this album but my favorite songs from the album are Man Made Paradise and Love Me Like There’s No Tomorrow it’s usally between those two. But yes I know that it was “Remastered” for Fred’s box set. Along with the bouns track with outtakes which are nice but I’m sure their are better! Freddie went above and beyond for this album! On every song he has at least one remix/extended mix which I think is fucking awesome! I think it’s time for a box set of mr bad guy. And I think maybe now is the perfect time

And when I mean remastered I’m siding with mooghead, we need a remixed album!

yeah re releases usually are record companies cashing in again and i agree it will be a waste of time repeating the release unless it has unreleased tracks to tempt us all.?

Mr Bad Guy is one of my favourite albums i think all the songs are awesome and the artwork is pretty cool so yes defo do an up to date vesion eg Queen remixing the songs with them on backing instead of it turning out like the Freddie mercury album remixes which i thought were shite. But each to their own. But yes defo get it out there again Peace Stu

would be nice to get some tracks on the album that have never been heard, and before you all say there is nothing left i am sure there is.

When I talked with Paul Vincent (rest in peace), he told me there was a record's version with a guitar on all the songs. After the box Freddie The Solo Collection, I think will never hear that alternative versions with guitars and other kind of production.

I find it surprising that Mr Bad Guy, Barcelona in it's original form, and The Freddie Mercury Album are all deleted. So thoughts of a Mr Bad Guy special edition are probably out the window since we don't even have a standard edition in the shops.

re:

>They re-did Barcelone, why not Mr. Bad Guy?

Because although Barcelona merited a re-working (which, for me, didn't add a great deal or replace what was originally produced with the synths and programming), the turd that is Mr Bad Guy can only be polished so much.

Other than Freddie's vocals which are powerful and dynamic, everything on MBG is - truly - the arsehole of overly produced music by big names in the mid-1980's.

Taking the vocal tracks - on their own - and completely re-visiting the arrangements and instrument combinations would be the only way the album could be brought back as a serious addition to Freddie's legacy.

Except Mr Bad Guy sounds like a load of under-developed demos - the complete opposite of over produced. Interesting that you find "over production" to be something that is bad, yet you are apparently a Queen fan.

The Queen remixes of Made In Heaven and I Was Born To Love You are FAR superior to the original versions. Just like the heavy remix of My Love Is Dangerous by that guy with 3 names. If they re-did the whole album like that, I would definitely buy it

I wasn't crazy album the remix verson of this album....I actually prefer the original....the Queen verson of Made In Heaven is Beautiful.

Yes i like the original versions and the versions Freddie was happy with too. I think they can ruin songs by remixing and tarting them up.

Would be great if Queen did re-recorded all the track from Mr Bad Guy during the MIH sessions

Actually I don't think Freddie was happy with the album either happystar. I think he was quite happy to see the back of it. It took him 3 years to make it, he was on about that solo album for ages before it came out, and he was taking so long over it that I think he basically had to do a rush job at the end to get it out before Walter Yetnikoff asked for his money back.

During the making of the documentary "The Untold Story", Mr Bad Guy was painted in a more positive light, but during the "These are the days of our lives" documentary the album comes over as something of an inconvenience, Freddie's mistake if you like. Roger and Brian weren't really very kind about the album on that documentary but I feel they were being honest.

My own personal view on Mr Bad Guy is that it has some good songs on it: Mr Bad Guy, Made In Heaven, I Was Born To Love You and Living On My Own are all good songs. I can do without Man Made Paradise, Love Me Like There's No Tomorrow, Let's Turn It On, and I think that "There Must Be More To Life Than This" is part of that early to mid 80s saviour complex thing that a lot of songs seemed to have going on. Then, Foolin' around and Your Kind of Lover are very much dated and even sounded dated at the time, although they're not bad songs per se.

The vocal on Made In Heaven is actually a bit disappointing for me. There's a lot of it which is just slightly annoyingly out of tune to my ear (not that I could actually do better.... but I think Freddie could have done better on it), and it seems as if he went for the final take too soon.

Anyway it's not important, the album is done, it's over, and it's an interesting piece of work, even if it's not his best.
