The Game was Queen's Greatest 80s Album?

I think the The Game was the perfect album to take Queen into the 80s. Music was changing and if Queen had released something like Queen 2 or ANATO in 1980 then they would have disappeared or at least become a cult act living on former glories.

Having said that, I think every album released after The Game was slightly worse than its predecessor. And yes, that does mean I think Hot Space was a better album than anything that came after it. They became a singles band with a greater ratio of filler per album right until the end.

Hi Mark, i think probably "The Works" album was the last classic Queen album of the 80s but i know "A Kind of Magic" album had a few great songs on it. For me The Miracle and Innuendo were Queen getting lazy and it showed.

The Game wouldve been better with Adam Lambert on vocals.

The Game had Dragon Attack as it’s ‘hard rock’ song. Not hard rocking enough in my opinion. Sail Away Sweet Sister was terrible. Love the album but not my favorite of the 80’s.

Goodco: Mocking Freddie about Aids was not a very nice thing to write and if you thought that was funny then you are as evil as the prat that wrote it in the first place.

I think Skye may have been making an ironic observation on the comment that Queen were “lazy” during a period when the singer was dying and putting every last bit of effort , creativity and energy into making music,

Exactly, and it's a pity that it flew right over happystar's head. I'd never mock Freddie but was mocking the "lazy" comment as it came across as dumb. Think about it Happystar just think why it was idiotic to call queen lazy during this time. Maybe its you who should be hanging their head in shame

No you misunderstood what i was saying which was The Miracle & Innuendo were lazy song writing ability compared to The Game album which was a dynamic Queen album. Sure we know Freddie put everything into his singing AIDS or no AIDS but the other three Queen members song writing on the last three albums was weak.

The Game was my first Queen album back in the day and I could write a bit about my opinion.
But since I enjoy Q+AL and you always say, that therefore I can‘t be a „real“ Queen fan, I will not take part in your discussion.

The Game album is probably too rich for your ears now anyway if you are all aloof with Adam Lambert and his plastic singing.
