Listening to "Vinyl Revival" show, hosted by Stephanie Hirst on BBC Radio Manchester, and she says she's spotted two little errors just watching the trailer for the upcoming movie.
1 - In scenes where they record "Bo Rhap", the mic points towards ceiling (where it wouldn't be recording anything)
2 - a 1980s sticker on the reel for "Bo Rhap", which of course was '75.
I haven't checked the trailer, so these are her observations. Sorry if it's been mentioned before.
Is she right?

freddie in a mustache supposedly singing we will rock you first the very first time is the one we're all worried about.
the two above are forgiveable

Spot on. Not to mention John recording background harmonies and Brian and Deacy playing their guitars with a violin bow whilst swinging his AC 30 around the studio
When nonsense like this is given a pass you have to wonder what Brian & Roger are thinking about. If established events are "tweaked" it makes you wonder about the factual validity of the film
I can't get my head around the people on Facebook who are defending this

To be fair having John do harmonies is understandable, he mimed for the videos so the public think he sang.
And if he's not in the recording booth he'll have even less screen time, they have to find something for his character to do.

If we're going to deconstruct moviescenes not designed to convey perfect accuracy, it could also be argued that said microphone was recording the room ambience to 'thicken' the sound of another, unseen microphone...

Yes, but those ones have already been mentioned.
I don't think any mistakes are forgivable tbh. Artistic license maybe, but not stupid, easily checked things.

Iol, maybe. But the scene suggests they're singing directly into a mic that wouldn't be picking them up.
As I say, just a couple of errors she's picked up on the trailer. Along with the biggies already discussed, this film is just going to be BS from start to finish.

Ok, not saying I don't agree with your assessment of the film, but - can you name me one, just one, music-related biopic that *doesn't* completely fuck up in terms of basic accuracy? I mean, I'm not saying they're *not* botching this, but that's just par for the course if you ask me.

This is a movie and not a Documentary. Some adjustments must have been made. Events off the timeline happens see on this site how Hollywood adjusts the facts to be more dramatic the story.

Not asking it to be a documentary. Just don't make it silly. Adding an 80s label to a 70s reel or giving Fred a hairy lip during WWRY doesn't add to the drama...

At least they have the rights to use actual Queen music, that already pegs it higher than "man in the mirror" which had to use funky stock music.

Another error seems to be Roger's hair remaining long all through the movie.

and again and again..they're raping the real content of a band...a band i loved so much..from the early 70's up to Fred's terrible and cruel dead. The still f*ck Fred in the a*s...again and again...it's a big shame. The magic and the legacy he worked so hard for ..Taylor and May used it as a public toilet. Everyone can p*ss on it. Where did it went wrong?

Trivial, but things like Freddie with the 'stash in the 70s DO matter to many of us. I don't want to see him wearing a kimono at Live Aid, so just get those little things correct.
For films of The Beatles, you don't want to see Paul and John with them if you recreate their Ed Sullivan gig, and you don't see them with beards during 'Sgt. Pepper'. If you do, then it's carelessness to detail.
