Freddie is awesome, as always. And I've been a committed AL skeptic, but this is pretty amazing. Even I have to admit that when Adam stares right into the camera at 00:56 my heart pounds a little. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBFZeW-MxZY

This version is not quite as good as the Paul and Robbie versions, but is much better than that other guy.

Although it may be true that the other guy has better vocal range and is technically a better singer than the "Greatest Of All Time" ** ... The vocal tone and emotional delivery of this version is much better and less contrived than the other guy.

** "G.O.A.T"

Welcome back GF ... I recommend that you run away from this site as fast as you can, as QZ is much worse now than it was a few years ago, and the moderation has not improved since then either ...

I think GF is probably poking fun at a particular Lambert hater on QZ rather than Lambert himself.

The video is no worse than Queen and the muppets. Brian will probably try to make it the Xmas number one: "great new team up! incredible singer! once in a lifetime! Freddie would have loved it! ... and so on.
"Queen is the only band in the world that can play so heavily that your nose bleeds, then offer a silk handkerchief to clean up with."

You’ll probably be bitching about Rami Malek when the movie comes out!

I am most assuredly 100% making fun of Adam Lambert himself, who given an adequate number of measures does indeed get around to sounding like a goat. Not that there's anything wrong with that! (If you're an actual goat)

Never believe anything Brian says these days he is so deceitful to get things sold and Lambert is the biggest lie he has ever fibbed about been great. Just goes to show how desperate a man can get.[/QUOTE]

I'm sure there's been any number of points of some pretty amazing cognitive dissonance along the way. In the end, he's making a living, making a lot of people happy along the way, giving people who attend what they experience as great live events.

But the last many years really have nothing to do with Queen as they were in my view. I really think of it as two completely different things. They're essentially covering their own songs now, and everything that made them so definitive and so seminal is long dissolved. They try to hang on like its all one long, unfolding continuum (Roger just launched on Instagram with a Tenement Funster self-reference), but it's not. It's then, and it's now.

Reading between the lines of all the various fallings out during the loooong production, it's an extremely good bet that Brian's hyper-controlled the thing straight into the ditch. I don't think it much matters who plays who. I expect it will be a dazzling, superficial affair aimed straight at dilettantes and his current fans.

About the goat thing — that’s what I hear when I listen to recordings/videos of Freddie. So that’s why I have a hard time understanding how that is being attributed to Adam and not Freddie.

You think Freddie sounded like a goat? Any song/s in particular?

What in the name of . . . . . . . . . . . . . (What ever you believe in to be real but isn't) are you listening too?

I don’t think either Freddie OR Adam sound like a goat. That is a blatant insult to two of the best male singers who have performed magnificently on this planet. If we are talking about vibrato, yes both of them have used that technique at times to stretch their voices in reaching the upper ranges. But they certainly don’t use it constantly.

It’s absurd and not worthy of being discussed.
