I think the Paris shows were the only ones on the tour to be filmed (and still exist) in their entirety.[/QUOTE]
Apparently there are two or three complete nights in Tokyo in the vault.

I think there is too but Freddie's voice was in really bad shape for majority of the Japanese leg which might prevent any footage from the tour being released. This is a real shame because there is a lot of footage of the group in Japan.

Guys... was Live Killers a tour or the title of a live album?

I believe that the American tour was called Jazz while the European and Japanese tour was Live Killers.

Live Killers was the name given to the album that was recorded during the European leg of the tour to promote the Jazz album.
At the time of the tour this title did not exist.
The programme covers simply stated US Tour 78, World Tour 79 with the Jazz artwork (Japan was different with pics on the cover).

That's just how we refer to it now. But at the time the title didn't exist, so it was just the Jazz tour.
I suppose we can defer to the tour programmes, but in North America (at least) the majority of concert goers referred to tours by which album a band had just put out.

>I suppose we can defer to the tour programmes,
Because that would just be silly, wouldn't it. It's not like that's EXACTLY what the tour was called; by THE BAND and PROMOTER......

Thanks! That goes as I thought!

It's soooo much easier to do that, rather than remember all the silly (or outright stupid) names that bands name their tours.

I doubt we'll see Live Killers reissued, the mix is completely underwhelming and the band hate it. More Likely we'll get live in Paris and a DVD of the footage. It'll be called Live Killers in Paris as a nod to the original release or something like that. Toyko 79 exists in full with multiple camera footage but Freddie's voice was in terrible shape so I doubt we'll see that released. Hammy 79 maybe if they've found the multi-tracks?

This is what I've been saying in this forum. I'm glad someone has the same ideas as me!

I also said this elsewhere. No point releasing the original flawed compilation when they have Paris and nearly twenty other complete shows in the archives.

Exactly. It's got be good in every way as 1979 was probably the best live year Queen ever did - the band were in their peak (especially Freddie) and they had great setlists. It's got to be representative of their shows in the period.
