" I am not in love with Adam. I think he is a great singer and am happy for his career."

His voice is fucking horrid. Thin, harsh, and grating.

Why is that fat fucker even being brought up here anyway? This is supposed to be about Queen.

Day dop: Queen fans on here are tortured everyday on here with Adam fans who pretend to be Queen fans but they just crow on about how Adam is doing Queen fans a favour keeping the music alive which is rubbish and ridiculous.
Queen were massive before Lambert was born, and Queen certainly do not need any input he delivers because he delivers nothing but pure embarrassment to the rock world.

Cause she just has to promote him. Now in the Queen section.

The weird thing about Rami Malek having a twin brother is that Ben Whishaw who was once possibly going to play Freddie also has a (non-identical in this case) twin brother. Spooky!

Personally I find it so sad how much drama there is on this board and how mean many people are to each other. What's the point? Surely the reason everyone is here is that we all love Queen? It just makes it a dismal for so many threads to descend into this. If anyone here was in Queen, the band would certainly have broken up before they were famous :p.

My view is it would be better to keep talk of Adam Lambert to the section of the forum he has. That's whoever is bringing him up.

Myself, Queen is only Queen with Freddie and there is something that troubles me about Queen performing with other singers. Disrespect is too strong a word, but there is a wrongness and a sadness I cannot escape as I just feel it - sort of like a cringe feeling inside (in fact a similar feeling to the worst bits of dialogue in Bohemian Rhapsody, even though the cause is different.)

I think I would not have this feeling had the 3 (or just Brian and Rog) continued making new music and performing (even keeping the name Queen) just themselves, with Roger singing (he has a great voice: they could have.) Of course I cannot know how I'd feel about that since it is a speculative scenario.

I could discuss this further, but it isn't part of the topic.

If other people enjoy Queen + AL, that's great though. And it's great Bri and Rog still get to perform and play the hits and those who'll enjoy them can hear them. And I concede I can't comment fully, having never heard them perform together live.

But anyway, the reason people get upset, is it isn't something you can completely just ignore if you don't like it because it is there, happening whether you like it or not. And I suppose it is related to the film. I am sure, following Bohemian Rhapsody there will be a lot larger and likely also a lot younger audiences who will want to see Queen + Adam Lambert. I'm not entirely sure what I think about that. But you can't just think nothing about it if you aren't personally interested as it is a thing that is happening. And in another Universe, I would be interested to see Brian and Roger playing together since I'm too young to have seen Queen live ever, so that Queen + Adam is the thing they do means there does not exist that other way I could see Brian and Roger live in a way that I'd want to.

Anyway, that's all I'm going to say about Adam. If I mention him again, it will be in his section of the forum. But I'd rather not talk of him as I have zero interest.

But I think whoever is insulting anyone, it only speaks for you.

There is insults. No biggie most of the time.
Then sweetcaroline comes along saying I am Hitler, and trying to excuse why she said it. That's something else entirely.

Spiralistic You are spot on when you say there is something wrong with other singers when they take lead vocals in Queen.
It will never feel right it is damn wrong and those songs just lose there sparkle when other people try and perform them.
We are on the same page there.

Sometimes it can work. IMO did a great job at the Freddie Tribute.
Sometimes it doesn't work, IMO AL singing SCC.

I think the Freddie Tribute is very different - because of what it was and was for and because everyone was only singing a small amount. Even there, it's only really George Michael who does Freddie proud. And wonderful as he is in his own right & as great as he was singing Somebody to Love, I wouldn't want even he to have sung as much as a full concert with Queen myself.

Of course we all have our own feelings about this, and if people enjoy Queen with other singers, that's fine.

I'm just saying that for me it is not something you can totally just not think about - Queen performing with other singers does happen and feels an actively hurtful or at least wrong thing.

Surely it must feel sad to Brian and Roger? I'd have thought every concert would have a sadness to it - performing the same songs they did with Queen, but without Freddie there. Surely you can't ever play and not think about and feel that?

Anyway, to each their own. I suppose the world would be boring if we all thought and felt the same.

Spiralistic : You and think the same and i thank you for your post above.
Yes you would think Brian would feel hurt letting anyone else sing those songs when Freddie was at his side all those years.
He must of hardened up and keeping his mind on the money he can make with Adam Lambert while Lambert is still current but it wont be long before his shelf life is up.
Its sad because i want the kids of tomorrow to remember Queen with Freddie rather than Adam who has done nothing creative for Queen at all.

EMI2565, so your solution is that Brian and Roger should have retired to their front porch rocking chairs after the Freddie Tribute in 1992 and never perform their epic music live again? I don’t understand!

You are right of course. The Freddie Tribute and Q+AL are two very different things.
I'm sure Brian and Roger still miss Freddie. I do wish the could stop saying Freddie would be jealous of AL, etc.
