I can't find anything official about this release. My guess is they could give a shit about the 70's stuff. They'll probably re release Montreal or Wembley again

I've never been a particularly big fan of Live Killers, so I'd much prefer a DVD of a 70's show be released instead, such as Houston 1977, Earl's Court 1977, Hyde Park 1976 or Paris 1979.

I realize that none of the above shows are from the LK era but I believe they are far superior performances and recordings.

The best live recordings of Queen IMHO are from 1974; the Rainbow shows from March and November of that year are unequaled in sound quality, performances and the caliber of the songs performed. Nothing beats Great King Rat, The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke and See What a Fool I've Been performed and recorded live way back then.

The whole 70's era was amazing, in my case, I love 1976 to 1979.

I know Greg Brooks mentioned something about LK in a reply to a Facebook post a couple of weeks back. Something may be happening but not for awhile. *sigh*

I am rather surprised if "Live Killers" is given a special 40th anniversary release as Brian and Roger hated the sound on that album.
Also it is becoming a money spinner venture now by releasing anniversary editions of certain material with a few bonus tracks to make it sell.

It could well be 8 discs (or two separate releases):

Yes,the "dreamers ball edition" of Live Killers... ;-)

i really am not hankering for any more stuff from the 1978/1979 Jazz Tour. Now, the Crazy tour (or even the 1980 Game Tour; either way you'll get Queen at their peak), that's a different story.

Live Killers is hardly doctored album. A few songs are really live like Killer Queen, I'm in Love with My Car, We Will Rock You or Bohemian Rhapsody. Probably the rest is mostly overdubbed or cut. It is confirmed they used shows from Barcelona (20 February), Frankfurt (2 February), Paris (28 February; 1 March), Zurich (4 February). The rest is unknown.

I hope they'll release a few full shows from this tour not next overdubbed compilation.

Sorry but nothing current with Queen+ is getting released thank god !

If there are any tracks 'doctored' (in more ways than one!) from the LK sessions I'd love to hear those reinstated back in, say if they were cut due to space say.
I'm not sure contemporary mixes would sit on the set seamlessly. Although that said, FBG from Paris does. Oh well.

It could well be 8 discs (or two separate releases):

2 CDs = a compilation of Paris shows
1 DVD = a compilation of Paris shows + highlights of different shows on the 1979 Jazz tour (such as Munich, Tokyo)
1 Blu-ray = a compilation of Paris shows + highlights of different shows on the 1979 Jazz tour (such as Munich, Tokyo)

2 CDs = Hammersmith 1979
1 DVD = Hammersmith 1979 + any other Crazy Tour footage (there might only be Crazy Little Thing Called Love from the Bristol soundcheck)
1 Blu-ray = Hammersmith 1979 + any other Crazy Tour footage (there might only be Crazy Little Thing Called Love from the Bristol soundcheck)

There could be a documentary about arguably the best year for seeing Queen in concert judging by lots of raw footage from different venues. A lot of soundchecks were partly filmed on the European tour. Interviews too for that matter.

As there's quite a few complete concerts filmed during the year there could be a potential for two releases but it could be a big box set with just the one concert on CD but two complete filmed shows on the DVD and Blu-ray. We can only guess until an announcement probably around September/Octoy as the last couple have been - simply a long time to wait.
Again, Hammersmith doesn't belong to LK.
Hammersmith might be released with Live Killers.
Says who?
I do because of similar setlists and same visual looks, and Queen were 'live killers' at that Hammersmith show. Would they do two similar releases in the same year? They might but I'm not sure.

I'm not sure whether it will be marketed as a 'Live Killers' anniversary edition but a 1979 box set with material from the 'Live Killers' tour and 'Crazy Tour'.

It's just my theory - I know no more than what's already been said.

Probably Freddie sang some parts of the song once again in the studio after the tour. Most probably examples: Don't Stop Me Now intro or We Are The Champions "But I've come through" part. Next example of doctored is cut off Roger's voice from the Spread Your Wings chorus. Brighton Rock come from 8 sources! Get Down Make Love has 7 sources! Now I'm Here - 6 sources! One song on album - a lot of sources. Brian's guitar is also overdubbed (Death on Two Legs for example). It is not real live album.

Title of the "Live Killers" album should be: "Montreux 1979. Live at the Mountain Studios". :)

Like I said before. Plans for the 2019 should be simple:
1. 45 CD Live Killers box set with all shows without overdubs. (1 CD with soundcheck before show) + 5 DVD - Paris and Tokyo concerts with bonus material. (Spring 2019)

2. Hammersmith Odeon 1979 DVD + (24 CD soundboard tapes from Crazy Tour included famous Newcastle shows, Liverpool, Dublin, Brighton, All London shows) + bonus material 2CD Open Air Saarbrucken 1979 (Autumn/Winter 2019)

Cant see all that lot getting a release, far too generous for Queen productions!
