Surprised they didn’t include BohRap, but the tribute to Freddie in the end, at such big stage, was very fitting and made the whole thing worthy in the end. [/QUOTE]
I wish John was shown too. That's my only quibble.
Agreed, I understand it might be tough with how things would work, but they maybe could have found a way to go trough a quick shot of John while Freddie was started to be showed on the big screen, but that could have been too difficult or complicated considering all circumstances they had to deal with.
I was hoping they would do Bo Rhap ballad segment, like in the first tour with Adam, with the second segment sang by Freddie on the big screen, it would be great IMO. But they haven’t been doing it even on the shows anymore, so my hope wasn’t realistic : )
Still, like I said, it was great for the meaning of it, and fitting with the little tribute in the end. That matters more than any specific preferences
Win for best sound editing :D
Won for best sound mixing :D
Won for film editing :D
3 already! Amazing!
It will have less impact if they don’t pull of one of the big awards though. I have hopes Rami will win it. Best movie I think it’s almost impossible.
The non-believers better get on the bandwagon. Congratulations, Rami!
One more to go!
I'm surprised Rami didn't thank Freddie in his speech like he did at the Golden Globes. Still it was a nice win for him and the team behind him who pushed so hard.
I think he meant to, when he was talking about his life, but maybe got lost in the emotion and trying to articulate everything and ended up skipping it by accident
He gave a long tribute to Freddie!
Green Book won best picture!

Oh stop.
I'm happy that Queen's and Freddie's legacy is still an important part of music and cultural history.
There's an irony to all of this, which Rami sort of touched on in his speech. He said Freddie unapologetically lived life his way, lived his truth, but Freddie couldn't come out in those days because of how being gay was perceived and how it might affect his career and the band's career and everything that goes with that kind of revelation. And here we are in 2019 and there are many, many rumors about Rami's sexuality and that his "romance" with Lucy is fake. I mean it's out there everywhere. And what's sad is if it's true, we haven't come very far in society. If Rami has to stay in the closet and pretend to be straight for whatever reasons, he's not living his truth. In 27 years not that much as changed in some ways...
Interesting, I haven’t herd that rumour before.

Never heard that rumour. All I hope for is Rami seems personally and professionally happy, and I think he is. He did Freddie proud, I think. I don't care if Rami is gay or not. He a talented actor and a genuine person it seems. Good enough for me.
