Wanted to watch but fell asleep with the laptop on my knee - Damn!!
Yaaaay, happy Rami won and the pic got three wins.
Regarding the rumours I haven't seen anything in the mainstream media but on blind item sites the rumours are there. A lot of Hollywood actors are still scared of coming out and it affecting the roles they get offered, you'd think they would be a lot more progressive in film/tv these days but it seem they aren't in America or maybe they would be if enough of them all came out, it's sort of changing slowly. I agree with NeverTooLate if it is true, nobody should have to hide who they really are.
I feel like the proverbial dog that has seen the rainbow and all the other dogs don't have a clue what he is talking about.
It's fantastic that Queen/Freddie get so much publicity. Rami seems like a nice guy and I don't mind good things happening to him. But there is absolutely no way he should have won an Oscar, the most prestigious film award there is, for this performance. For half of the film he was nowhere near resembling Freddie and even in the other half the brilliant moments were not that many. If this was an Oscar-worthy performance, how bad would a non-Oscar-worthy performance have been???
Btw, Adam was great (as always), but Freddie would have totally dominated the crowd from the screen, like he did in London 2012.
Another bland boring performance from Adam & the twats so whats new? Queen are gone and there is magic to make since Freddie and John are gone.
Glad the film Bo Rhap got four oscars which means the world misses our Freddie so so much.. He was the essence and arguably the magic in Queen.

I think Freddie had the standing ovation last night ;-).

And that's where you're wrong. Most Americans already think Rami Malek was the original singer in Queen when they were still The Spike Edney Singers, before AL succeeded him. They wonder why they keep showing the guy with the gay clone look on the big screen. The fictional character of Freddie Whatshisname will soon be forgotten and not Two Fux were given.
“@DrBrianMay Congratulations to Rami - and our sound mixing team and sound editors - and John Ottman - brilliant editor of Bohemian Rhapsody. We won 4 Oscars ?!! Ouch ! Amazing. Bri”

1.7 mil views on youtube in one day for their performance, that is really good.

Even if i wanted to watch i could'nt because its not on tv here, thank god![/QUOTE]
Of course it was available in the UK and its repeated tonight, you don't appear to be very knowledgeable do you!
My TV feed to the ABC network is awful and I was very happy to have found a live stream last night so I could watch it.
I think the win for Rami was a sentimental one as much for Queen/Freddie. I agree Rami's part wasn't comprised of that much "acting" as much as it was a physical movement and lip synching role. He didn't look just like Freddie, the other actors ironically looked closer to their real counterparts, with Joe M. looking like a clone of Deacy. It was eerie how alike they look. I think Rami did very well with the material he was given to work with and he certainly did his very best, but he's no male counterpart to Meryl Streep in terms of acting in this film. A big part of that is probably the script. So he was the feel-good fave to win plus his team and studio put a ton of $$$ into marketing and courting Oscar votes, as that is a very important part of the game of winning an Oscar. I haven't seen the other movies to compare performances.

"Roger" in the film looked like shit. Not even close to being believable I dare say.
Green Book was also worthy. That said, I expected ASIB to win everything is was ever nominated for...I'm glad I was wrong ;-).
Vocal Harmony From what i have seen online of Queen + AL performance at the oscars i will give any repeat a miss.
Even Mel B and Tatum Oneal said on the Breakfast show to Roger Taylor this morning that Queen + AL were dull and not enough glitz and sparkle last night !
You gonna argue with them then?
Mel B had nothing good to say about Lady Gaga's performance either. I'd like to see her rocking the Oscars opening when she's in her late 60s. LOL
Jealous cow.

It's well over 3mil views now. Gone viral! I guess it will be 5-6 mil by the end of the day.
Freddie was the glitzy, arena-transforming one and you can't replicate that kind of magic.
