My human zoo, I think they would start something new but I'm not them and they are the coordinators and started this lovely thread. So I'm sure they will fix something up.Book discussion wont leave much time for much else.Even in the old thread Thor didnt mind even when he participated if we all got to know a little about eachother. You can only ask so many questions. But welcome I'm sure They will be glad your here.

Wow, we sort of exploded today, didn't we?
Welcome MyHumanZoo (MHZ)! Glad to see you here. I've enjoyed your comments on the book thread.
Amidds, I really enjoy the book thread ! I do like to see what all of you are reading! Personally I'd like to see you stick to that topic though I really shouldn't be saying anything since I seldom comment.
There seem to be several people who want to start a chit chat thread. If one of them is inclined to create that thread, I think that's ok. Just do it! :) There are some who might enjoy that outlet. However I don't think there is anything wrong with the evolution of this thread. Even before Thor and Lee took the hiatus, most of the questions had dried up. I don't think they will be here for a while though I can't quite tell where they are in the publishing process. But once the book is out, they will need to publicize, do book signings, etc. I think it is unrealistic to think they will return in a active way any time soon. For my part I think any Queen/Freddie discussion is fine for the time being. DTS IS a fine Queen topic as are videos, interviews, etc. I like learning about each of you, though I do think the posts that focus totally on personal things should be eliminated or moved to a chit chat thread or PM. It was always important to Thor that this thread remain friendly and civil and we have been able to do that. I like it for that reason.
Thanks to all for your input. It has been interesting.

I'll check it out on Kindle--thanks for that, Amidds. I'm currently reading a book on class differences in the US; fairly depressing, not gonna lie, so maybe something joyful and Freddie-like is just the right antidote.

Well, that's what happens when one has too many tabs and pays no attention to which was clicked--that post goes on another thread. Apologies!

katy Thor has been popping on here when he can and I'd imagine it's difficult for him to wade through all the posts to see if there is anything he needs to address. This is of course just my view point.
When he has posted it gets buried and lost amongst all the chatter so I can see where the three guys are coming from. This is the reason for the suggestion for a new thread for Thor and Lee to post on . That way this one can continue as it is and the new thread will be easier for people to see if Thor has been able to pop on.
Although he isn't able to post regularly , he does try to get on when he can, that the impression I get. Once he posts regularly the new thread will be buzzing with members . [/QUOTE]
I agree with the others, don't create a new thread for Thor and Lee. They can if they'd like to. You guys should have taken it elsewhere, and it's been said on many occations yet ignored. I don't know, but I enjoyed reading Thor and Lee's posts, even if they weren't frequent, until all the other talk came in. Please, you guys go to the personal section. This thread is about Thor and Lee, not your pillow talk... it's rude for you to suggest someone create a thread for them. Thor created this thread.

Goodnight lovely peeps have friendly convos about our precious Freddie and whatever interesting comes to mind just dont make it boring lol.

I am creating a new topic in the Queen - General Discussion section, given that few posters in this topic go to the Personal section. Besides, most of the chit chat in this thread is related to Freddie and Queen.
The new topic will be titled Freddie's Coffee Club ... in honor of THE upcoming "coffee table book".

This still should've been cleared with Thor and Lee. If it has anything to do with discussion of the upcoming book Saint Juib. Its okay to honor someone but using a it as a way to create a site that they should be running without their input or approval isn't right.Im sorry if I disagree. But I do understand your frustrations here.Im sorry you feel the way you do.Maybe tommorow will be a brighter day.

St. Jiub, thanks for stepping to the plate for those who wanted a chit chat thread. Your opening topic is interesting.
Chevy, St. Jiub has created the chit chat thread, not a thread to discuss the upcoming book. There is no need to clear anything with Thor and Lee.

When I created the "Freddie's coffee club" topic, I made sure I made no direct reference to Thor or Lee nor the title of the book.
I would hope that any discussion of the book or Thor or Lee would remain in this topic, and not be put in the newly created chit chat thread.

Okay got it I miss understood it's been a long day.Sounds like a good plan.Thank You !

I just edited the opening sentence in the new topic, to clarify that this new topic is for general Freddie chit chat rather than discussing the coffee table book .

Amidds...Thanks for the link to the documentaries. I had seen that link before, but it would have taken me a while to find it again. As with the books I read early on in my "Freddie journey", I also consumed YouTube documentaries, one after another. Some I have watched multiple times...and I always find something new, ever after repeated viewings. Tonight I decided to go down that list and just pick out something different to watch. I selected the "Queen: Rock Around the World" interview from 1977. It's audio only, but extremely interesting. What a pleasure to listen to these 4 intelligent and articulate men answer questions...and those voices...so relaxing.

Rainbow, I just listened to the audio link you provided. I don't think I'd heard it before and I always enjoy new finds. I didn't realize it was so early in their career until I'd reread your post so the well thought out answers illustrate that they always knew exactly what they were doing.
JB, I definitely hadn't heard the video you provided. It's clear that Freddie's playful side is showing and he is having a lot of fun. However...……..and here comes some blasphemy......yikes, I didn't like it. I know Freddie enjoyed scat singing, but this doesn't do it for me.
I've lost Amidds' link to the documentaries. I need to mark that type of thing as soon as I see it. Anyone??
A question. One of my favorite songs on Barcelona is La Japonaise. I think it is hauntingly beautiful. Somewhere I either read or heard in an interview that Freddie worked hard on getting the correct pronunciation of the Japanese words, yet as he was recording, the Japanese man (?) working with him repeatedly stopped the recording because he was getting the words very slightly wrong. Freddie being a perfectionist wanted to be absolutely spot on, but the source I'm looking for stated that he got increasingly annoyed at being stopped. I think this might have come from Phoebe. Does anyone know the source? Maybe the people on the book thread will come across it. It's not a big deal, but one of those details that I think about every time I hear the song.
