Part Three: New thread while Thor and Lee's book is in Publication

Thor, so glad to hear the knee nightmare is finally over and you've got bounce in your step again!

Enjoy your time in NY with your family. You'll be there a nice amount of time to see and do a lot of things. Be sure to build in some time for just relaxing with the family.

I'm frantically trying to get ready as we will be celebrating on the 21st. I got several bags of Quality Street candy from the Vermont Country Store catalogue. Once I learned that it was Freddie's favorite Christmas candy I've always had some on hand. My family thinks I'm crazy, but I notice that doesn't stop them from eating it.

I had occasionally wondered over the past few weeks how you were doing (after you posted about your tight sutures), but convinced myself that "no news is good news" since you were making good progress on the coffee table book.

Thor I am glad that you are finally on the mend. It's been a long,long hard slog for you. I hope the end result will last you a long time and increase your mobility.

I am in the (slow) process of reworkingmy Wembley '86 12" Freddie-type " action man" doll. His felt Wembley costume became pilled, and I decided to reform it in more robust materials.

I cheated with his trousers as I bought a pair of plain white trousers and stitched a stripes (sadly I had a C.R.A.F.T. moment and put a wide red stripe and narrow gold, so I have to redo that. Bought trainers, too.

Bought a yard of yellow faux leather fabric for his jacket and have been shaping, stitching the frogging straps, and gold piping and silver piping. I'm awaiting the arrival of tiny metal buckles.

I'm quite pleased with the result so far (but please don't examine my stitching too closely! A tailor, I'm not !!)

Thought I'd share the fruits of my labour so far. I did post a photo of my Live Aid Freddie didn't I ?
