Part Three: New thread while Thor and Lee's book is in Publication

JoT--this is why I return to this site: to learn and be with good folk. Yours is a lovely gesture.

Jo-T was inspired by another QZ member who very kindly donated the funds so that I will be able to have a signed copy of Thor & Lee's book. I mentioned yesterday I haven't been able to donate recently and this kind kind gesture was made.

I just want to add that we are all so so excited about Thor & Lee's book and I fully appreciate that they want it to be the best it can be and therefore won't settle for less.

I will say this one more time and that is I still think you lovely lovely people should have your lovely conversations on a new thread for general chit chat.

Freddie and QUEEN have attracted many new fans and they will over time come to hear about Thor and Lee and their book and will come to QZ to find out. They will see this thread and think 'oh wow its Lee and Thor' only to find talk about all sorts not relating to the book . This may put people off , especially if they aren't aware of where to find the go fund me link. It took me a while lol.

I think Thor should sign this thread off with the latest update on go fund me and you all continue to talk about whatever you want on a new thread.

Don't shot me for saying this but I think its the way forward for everyone.

First, I saw the donations Doughnut is referring to on the GFM site, and they warmed my heart. Truly an example of "good thoughts, good words, good deeds."

Second, Doughnut I thought your post was lovely and I agree with you. I believe people create threads with a topic because that is what they want to talk about on their thread. Newbies and possibly others may not know about the GFM site, so they come here for updates. I have been guilty of being off topic here myself.

If you look at the list of forums on the QZ page, towards the bottom there is one labeled "Personal". Looking at the threads listed there, it truly is meant for anything people want to talk about. I think if someone came up with a catchy name that would allow us to find each other, we could all migrate there. Those of us who love to share gems we find about Freddie could do that without taking away from Thor's book thread. It would also be the perfect place to share all of our personal stories. I have loved getting to know you all, but I agree, this is no longer the place.

Thanks for the advise! I WILL end this thread and start one that friends of Freddie can chat among themselves. Updates will mostly be on GoFundMe. I've already told everyone that you do not have to be a donor to join the site and read updates.
Please give me a week or two to get this done.

News: Second draft is in today and it looks pretty good. I will be going over it carefully with Lee in Palm Springs. I arrive there tomorrow evening!
Finally, it seems like we are getting close to the completion!

Thor's update:

"Second draft of the book became available today. It looks pretty good. I am going to spend the next 6 days with Lee. We'll go over it with a fine-toothed comb. I think just a few things need to be changed for our third (and final) draft. We are very excited. It is not too far till completion!"

Lee and I have just submitted our list of needed changes for the third draft of the book Not sure how long it will take for them to complete it. If it is not perfect, we will need to actually purchase a fourth draft, but again, keep in mind that we won't settle for anything less than an excellent quality book.

It is just that the arrangement of the photos and enlargements, the cover jacket, and the actual cover of the book, all need to flow properly and artfully. It is a coffee table style book! There were still some deviations from the second draft that needed correction. Perhaps perfection was the wrong word. We'll go with excellence! Thanks man!
