marijuana oil is now being allowed in the uk for medical purposes , it has proven very effective for some.

For those that have a soft spot for Jim I can confirm that recently Peter Freestone did a tour of his and Freddies old haunts in Kensington with some Italian fans. He touched on Jim Hutton because he said that he gets asked a lot who Freddie loved more. He said that at the time of Freddie's death he loved Jim and that he did not love Mary in the sense that many people wanted him to have. Jim was the man that gave him serenity, love and stability and if he had wanted to be with Mary nothing would have stopped him . He did say Mary was an influence on some on Freddies decisions.

He also said that during the funeral jim was in bits but for the outside world Mary played the part of the widow.

I will find the link and post it here if any of you are interested ?

Rainbow I have seen the blog, it's rather sad :(

Rainbow - the technology Gods have decided to punish me for some unknown infraction.....had a comp "blue screen" on me and my router went out. Basically, the link is in my history at home and that comps dead. I DID find the blogger, however, I hope this works:
http://terezavin.blogspot.com/. I haven't read the whole blog, just bits and pieces before comp hell started, lol.

Galileo - I'm heading to Canada in a couple of weeks too (New Brunswick), where are you headed? I just find it funny because I NEVER hear of people visiting Canada, lol.

Doughnut-if you can find the link, please post. Jim seems like such a sweetheart who wanted nothing more than to enjoy the little things in life and be with the man he loved! We should all be so lucky *sigh*.

amidds.....i can't find the link but I have pasted the translated conversation as it was originally printed in italian

day one

The article I shared earlier translated, not by me .

Here is the whole article I mentioned before translated for you! Sorry for any eventual mistakes ??

Peter appears to be taking fans on a tour of London . It’s nice to hear that he and Jim H were able to choose the songs played .

We have been traveling around the city with him for three days; after the first day he was incredibly fatigued and overwhelmed with emotion, he seems more lively than ever. I can't even keep up with him, not to mention that one of his steps is mine.
Yesterday morning, Peter briskly took us up and down London's neighborhoods to John Nodes in Ladbroke Grove. The funeral parlor whose father was general manager. He and his family lived right above the store and at the time of Freddie's worsening health condition, it was logical for him to call his father to ask him for help in managing his friend's imminent demise. "Dad I know it's a waste for you and I'll make you angry, but I need you to get the most beautiful coffin and the finest wood."
He began this way because his father found an immense waste using precious woods for a coffin that would then inevitably have been burned (AIDS patients had to be cremated when they died). I had been ordered to organize the funeral service and decided to do everything I could to serve the best not only for Freddie, but above all for his parents: I wanted to be there for them. Losing a child is so unnatural ... "
Freddie died on Sunday November 24th just before 7.00pm. His body left Garden Lodge shortly after midnight, the police blocked the paparazzi crowded outside Garden Lodge.
The body in great secrecy, after being put in a black bag (also a sad passage for the AIDS patients) was transported to a secret place on Hewer street. He remained there until Wednesday morning when, already locked in his coffin, he went to the Ladbroke Grove ceremonial hall in this way, I would have kept the curious away from the family that managed to make a first private ritual following the Zoroastrian tradition. Later, Freddie was taken to Kensal Green for the official function and cremation. Jim Beach-Miami had organized the guest list and the public aspect of the affair. With Jim (Hutton)I chose some songs for the function: For the arrival of Freddie we chose one of his favorite songs Yo've got a friend sung by Aretha Franklin ( I advise everyone to listen) while at the end of the ceremony we chose a rose in December by Montserrat Caballe "
Jim was desperate, his face full of tears and yet, for the world the "widow" was Mary ...””

Amidds—Gananoque, which is in the Thousand Islands area where the St. Lawrence joins Lake Ontario. I grew up in Canada. And Canada is full of American tourists. Enjoy New Brunswick! I’ve never been there. The NB accent is my favorite French accent in the Country though. Shhhh don’t tell anyone in Quebec I said that.

Day 4 with the travel agency... WHAT PHOEBE SAID

“Yesterday's story ended with the sentence that indicated Mary as Freddie's widow and did not take Jim Hutton into account. I would therefore like to shed light on this subject, the relationship between him and Jim.
Jim Hutton was the man who gave Freddie all he wanted: stability, love, serenity and simplicity. In the first part of his life there are parties, and excesses as he approached forty he needed normality. Jim gave him all this!
I received a lot of messages asking if he loved Jim more than Mary, I say he was in the place to be with the person he wanted next! If he loved Mary more, I would have had no reason not to be with her! Surely Mary was a great love and a great friend and certainly influenced Freddie's choices very much but at the time of death he was not in love with her in the sense that everyone would like ... that part of his heart belonged to Hutton.”

Here we have it people!!!!!!

Galileo-no doubt lots of Americans there, I just don't know them, lol. Got a lot of head tilts when I said I was going there as most people I know are heading to Europe or an island this year! I'm hitting the big 50 this year and decided to start hitting my bucket list, trying not to wander too far from
my mom who isn't in the best health :(.

Doughnut - thanks so much for the post! I admit whole heartedly that I am "team Jim" and love the confirmation of the love between him and Freddie!

Doughnut, I think it's no secret how I feel about Mary but the way they portrayed her as his widow for the public was ridiculous. Everyone looked so upset that day but she didn't and her remarks that she had won is terrible to me.I think if he knew how everything truly played out he might have handled things different.I really think she thought he would stop his lifestyle and return to her. When that didn't happen Jim came in the picture that sealed the deal.Just my opinion I'm happy he had those few years with Jim he looked like he was settled and happy.

Thor and Lee- August sounds like it is going to be a busy month for!! Thor - you said some time back you were having knee surgery- hope all goes well!!

Amidds- there are many very knowledgeable people on this thread- you will learn a lot- I know I have and am still learning not to mention how nice everyone is about sharing what they know

Doughnut- always glad to read your posts about Jim and Freddie- you know that's my favorite topic:)

Chevy- glad you are keeping things hopping on this thread- always enjoy your point of view!!

Rainbow- when and where are you seeing the concert??
· Member since
Thor & Lee, thanks for the update. It's always great to hear of the book's progress. Keep cool and hydrated in PS.

Rainbow, we saw The Rhapsody Tour earlier tonight. Then, Queen is headed to Toronto on Sun. I was around but too young to see Queen and Freddie Mercury when they last toured the U.S., so I'm glad I was finally able to see Brian May and Roger Taylor live for the very 1st time. Roger's 70th b-day was on the 26th, so the band and the audience sang happy b-day to him! You can look forward to a solid, fantastic concert!

Galileo, when I have the time, I'll have to check out Richard McKay's book about Gaetan Dugas, since it sounds like it has more accurate and current scientific info. Thanks for the mention.
Even though the book is outdated and had unfairly and erroneously maligned him as "Patient Zero" who introduced HIV into the U.S., I do still want to read Randy Shilts' "And the Band Played On" for some unexplained reason.

Belated welcome, Amidds!

CHEVYMAN, I'm the one who dredged up the topic of marijuana when you brought up Pink Floyd. You don't have to take the blame! LOL Ironically, today, I'm vehemently opposed to the legalization of marijuana for recreational use and had voted against it in my home state, whereas I'm pro the legalization of MEDICAL marijuana.

Thor, Emdee reminded us that your knee surgery is coming up quickly now. You've been through it before so I'm hoping this second go is one you can sail through. I would think your experience in PT would be helpful. Good luck to you!

I'm so excited the book is ever closer. Are you ready for our addresses now? Don't want to overwhelm you.

Jt, I was just joking about taking the blame it's part of my past and I hide nothing I see nothing wrong pink floyd and a little smoke just seem too fit.I hope you enjoyed the concert. You were so excited our Brian May looked great and Blonde was beautiful as always.Thor I hope your knee surgery gets over with quick and you recover quick I know what it's like not to be able to walk. Most people say it relieves their pain so it is worth it my prayers will be with you during this time of healing.Emdee Thanks girl I have grown to like it here I'm rather shy and this has brought me out of my shell.

Thor, I wish you well with your upcoming knee surgery and the rehab that follows. I guess there will be no driving to Lee's for a while!

Amidds....Thanks for the link. That blog was certainly interesting to read and as doughnut said, it is quite sad. However, I admit I am a bit skeptical of many parts of that encounter. Have a great trip to Canada. I think any of the Maritime Provinces would be great to see. My husband and I have talked about going to the eastern tip of Maine and crossing by boat to New Brunswick. He wants to see the largest whirlpool in the Western Hemisphere which is in the area between Maine and New Brunswick. I think all the coast along the Bay of Fundy looks gorgeous.

doughnut....A big thanks for forwarding that translation of Peter's tour of London with those folks. He always seems like such a genuine guy and someone who clearly respected and loved Freddie.

Jo T. Glad you enjoyed the show. I had been wondering what you thought of it. I saw Queen + AL a couple of times when they toured in 2017 and those shows were great as well. I never saw Queen with Freddie either (sniffle) but I am grateful for the opportunity to see Brian and Roger perform again and to hear Adam sing those amazing songs. For me, one of my favorite and emotional moments during both of the 2017 shows was seeing Freddie appear on the big screen. I felt the same way when Freddie came on the big screen during the Academy Awards. It's like my heart stops!

emdee...I am going to the show at the Xfinity Center outside of Boston on Aug. 4. I'm counting down the days. One more week of work!

katydyd... I have to get my mailing address to Thor and Lee as well. Wasn't sure what the best time was either.

Chevyman - funny how those years creep up on you, isn't it? Starting this year, I'm just gonna start counting backwards so I don't age anymore lol!

Rainbow - The blog was sad and, like with all things I find online, I also read it with a bit of skepticism. There seemed to be enough knowledge to make it plausible tho??? Plus, I just want to think that Jim did have some happiness towards the end. I feel as if it would be harder to find some enjoyment in your everyday life if you were constantly bombarded with the images/memories that come with being close to someone famous maybe?

Thor - good luck on the knee surgery!! At least things have improved over the years....both my parents had them 20 years apart and the pain/recovery time was immensely different for both of them! My 85 year old mother was on her feet in 2 days!
· Member since
Amidds, yes those years have crept up on me geez I will cry when I turn 50 that will be a terrible day.I have four more years. My oldest child said mom I'm 26 you are getting old the funny thing is she looks older than me.I hope I still keep aging this way I dont want to look real old.But she was born when I was 19 so she will catch up with me quickly. She has two dogs and no children smart girl she is.It is amazing how quick recovery on surgery is .I have only had 2 a nerve biopsy and a c section both were a cake walk.I think by the time your ready to have a knee replacement your knees bother you so bad your ready to get relief and get it over with.
