I cannot buy the Days of Our Lives DVD with extras on Amazon it's apparently not available. WHAT? The ones you buy on amazon streaming etc are always edited and have none of the extra feature interviews that the dvd apparently has boo....I love watching the concert DVD's the only one I don't have is Rock in Rio. I see a box set with all four available but Rock in Rio isn't available separately I don't think.

Perk, have you tried buying a copy of the DVD on eBay? My copy has extras. BTW the Blu-Ray of Days Of Our Lives has loads more extras than in the DVD.

I came home today after work to a lovely surprise. On the kitchen counter were two large Freddie car stickers that my husband had ordered for me (yellow jacket, fist in the air, Freddie) My husband had given me a couple of these same stickers several months ago that I put on each car. However, they are somewhat small...not something you can easily see from another vehicle. These new stickers are 8.5 inches tall and show up really well. So now I have a Freddie sticker on each side/back window of my car. And if that were not enough...he informed me he had also ordered a couple sets of Freddie tattoos which should be coming in soon! That's just the way my husband is...always thoughtful.

JB050...Thanks for the pictures of your gift bag items. I especially love that purple robe! Will you wear it around the house? I agree...it's great that we can "relive" our different concert experiences. I am holding out hope that Queen + AL will tour again someday in the US. It would be at least a couple of years or so from now, but I would definitely go again...and more than once. They did not call this their "Farewell Tour" so who knows, anything is possible!
Katydyd...You threw your Queen ticket away..."Gasp" is right. Of course, I am at the other extreme...I hold on to everything.
Thor...Sending you positive knee recovery vibes. Hope you will be back in action soon!

I just read on FB that Greg Brooks and Simon Lupton are re-releasing their book Freddie Mercury His Life In His Own Words with new material. I have the original, and use it mainly as a reference to find quotes from Freddie. There is no narrative in the book, just a short foreward from Jer Bulsara and then pages of quotes from Freddie separated into different categories. It's nice to have so much of his own words in one place. The new book will apparently be available for pre-order on Amazon on September 1. I'm going to have to seriously think about this one.
Rainbow, how lucky you are to have a husband who understands the obsession!

Ok, I'm going to try to upload a picture using FreddieDarlings instructions.
Assuming it worked and I've shared the picture, I've seen still pictures like this many times. I'm wondering though if anyone has a link to a video that shows how Freddie got up from that position. Assuming I could even get down like that...………….and I can't!!!...…….they would have had to bring in equipment to get me back up. Anyone?? Link to a video??
Katydyd...I spent some time searching for the video that goes with your picture. I got very lucky and found it! It was from Queen's performance at the Montreux Pop Festival in 1984. They were doing the song "Tear It Up". The stage was extremely small so Freddie had far less room to move about...but he still moves beautifully.
Here is the video link...you need to fast forward to about the 2:45 mark to watch Freddie show just how flexible he is!
Rainbow61, I believe this is the concert where they were lip syncing and hated doing that. You'll see in the video that Freddie didn't even put the mic up to his face to sing like he was in defiance. LOL
Your husband is so thoughtful! He knows just how to make you happy! :)

Hello All,
My knee is healing nicely but slowly. It is still quite painful but under control with the medications. I am driving to
Palm Springs on Friday afternoon to spend time with Lee and a rather new friend (two years), Victor. The medication
does NOT make me woozy or impaired in any way. No need to tell me to be careful, I will be just fine. Not necessary to
worry. Lee and I will be doing more work on the book. Part 2 - Graphics are almost done!
Miss you all,
Thor

Thor great to hear you are recovering well and you are able to visit lee.
I miss you here too and Lee .
Katy you can pre order the updated book on Amazon now , it's available in paperback from 5 Sept and kindle 1 Sept.
It will.contain 8000 new words from interviews over the years .
You guys are lucky as us peeps in Europe haven't had a chance to see the tour. Here hoping they do tour Europe so we don't miss out .
All the band's performing at mont mines as it apparently made the whole show easier to put together . The band didn't mind as it gave them a chance to showcase any new material in a one of show .
Ammids hope you are ok ?
Take care

Rainbow, thank you so much for the video! After I posted the picture I thought it might have been a still shot, and thus posed. I just could not imagine anyone getting into that position comfortably while performing and then getting back up. To see that he did it live was amazing. I will say this though: he did use the drum stand to some extent to push himself up. Had that been me, first of all, the position would have been impossible. If I had achieved that, I would have had to roll over, crawl to the stand and push up. Even then, with artificial knees, it would not have been pretty. His flexibility was amazing.
Doughnut, I did notice that the book was available through Kindle. While I don't really like that format, I might consider that since I already have the book. To be honest, it's not a favorite among books, but it is nice to have so many quotes in one place.
Delilah, I think the lip syncing concerts are funny in that Freddie so obviously shows that he's not using the mic. Our guy was not a rule follower!
Thor, so good to hear from you! I remember when I first drove after my knee surgery. Such a sense of freedom!!! Glad to hear the graphics are almost done. I can't even begin to imagine what that entails but if it means the book is that much closer to being in my hands, go for it!!

Thor - thanks for the update! Maybe it's the mom in me, but I was a little worried about you.....
Doughnut - you are so sweet! Yes, I'm fine, just working hard (she works hard), every day of my life ;). End of month is a busy time for me. Also had an accident when someone decided to pull a physics-defying and illegal merge into my brand new car (all the crying emojis). Even though she was issued a warning and told she was at fault, she is lying about it. Apparently, a shaky lie is all it takes for your insurance company to deny a claim so my life has been filled with arguing with agents, working with adjusters, repair places and rental agencies *sigh*. Will try to look up those pages this weekend though.
I have been trying to keep up with all the wonderful posts so I don't get too far behind. Can I just say that Freddie pulled off that small stage well in the most recently posted YouTube clip (thanks Rainbow) but he NEVER should have been confined to such a small space!

Glad to hear your knee is healing steadily.
Will you be doing a short pit stop at the midpoint of your 2 hour plus drive to prevent your knee from stiffening up too much?
However, after your drive, no stand up breaks are allowed.
I expect at least a 48 + hour marathon chained to a chair until the graphics are complete.
LOL
Actually, perhaps you should not listen to my outrageous demands and instead listen to your knee.
