Not sure what a fake fan is, but there's going to be thousands there, the chance that every one of them will receive your personal seal of approval is nil.
So just have fun and if you interact with others who seem nice, what does it matter if they only got into Queen last week or even if they aren't big fans.

I've been to plenty of gigs by bands where I was only vaguely aware of their catalogue and plenty of support acts where I knew nothing.

I've been at shows where I was stood next to people singing along at the top of their voice despite not knowing ANY of the words. (Admittedly that is slightly annoying)

But just chill and enjoy it, It's not a biggest fan competition, and if you try to make it one, you will lose, there is always someone who is more obsessed than you.

My definition of "fake fans" are those people who are saying they are a fan of Queen just because the movie was popular. If they actually like Queen though, they shouldn't be considered as fake fans.[/QUOTE]

My definition is the AL fans who claim to be a Queen fan. One who thought Freddie wore the Cape and crown at Live Aid.
I can see right through bullshit like that, not hard to notice on Queen boards when they don't even discuss Queen with Freddie very much.

I cannot imagine who you might be talking about? LOL

What was AL's last single? It must have flopped because of teenage spammers who like someone else???

;-) More of where that came from too.
Comin In Hot was the latest song and video. I think it's sucks. It fell down pretty quick, but it wasn't all that hot to begin with.
Teenage spammers and Glambert grannies...I don't think he is even keeping those. No wonder why he never says no to Brian and Roger.

It's true New Eyes and Coming In Hot didn't do well. I stand by what I said.

Yep, not a fan of Adam's new music. For someone with a great voice he sure has trouble choosing and writing songs. I did like a number of them on the first two albums and several he co-wrote. The last two didn't sound like him and covered up all the things I like about his voice. At some point he needs to realize that he is getting older and pop might not be where it is at for him. People seem to connect with his ballads. Perhaps getting out of the bubble of his friends for business would be a good idea, as they are doing him no favors with the music that he has put out lately. I watched that new song writing show on TV and in each case I picked the song for the artist (big deal, right?), but there are good songwriters out there that could maybe do something for him that suits his voice and his aesthetic. I think I could do a better job filtering through a bunch of songs and finding the right one for him (just kidding, but still). He has gotten more recognition for other people's songs (Cher's, Little Big Town, Rhianna, Queen), so there has to be somebody that could write the perfect Adam Lambert song. I just think he is going for a different feel and it may be a bit late for that. ,CHR, HAC or Lite Classical would be where I see him now. I hate to say that and maybe the rest of the album will prove me wrong, but so far, didn't like the music and hated the look. Hard to say about one of my favorite singers, but just like Icy, I stand by what I say!! Cheers, Icy!! I didn't mention it, but condolences are in order. So sorry about your Dad. I am 12 weeks out of my knee surgery and finally feel like a human. Worst operation ever and that made 4. I kept meaning to tell you that and didn't. They are heartfelt and a virtual hug is also sent to you!

Truth be told, I love Feel Something...I think that song has "it" and it checks all the boxes for me. I cried the first time I heard it to be honest.
New Eyes and Coming In Hot. ..ouch, I don't like those two songs at all.
Thanks for the condolences. It's still a shock he's gone. And the way he went, I'll never forget. If I ever get called a wimp, that's exactly what I actually am, I don't have his courage at all.
I hope you are recovering well. Will you be going to a show?

Sorry I was not clear, but my comment was not a slap at AL.

It was a well-deserved slap at SweetCaroline, and was meant to reference this "classic" excuse from SweetCaroline when AL's latest single dropped off the charts:

"That’s because Adam doesn’t have those 13-year-old tweens constantly playing music on their cells like Mendes and BTS have. Competition is tough when you are 37."

By now, she has given every excuse in the book when it comes to things regarding AL. Well, it's not homophobia this time around, so that's what she comes up with this time. There is everything from homophobia to payola she's come up to excuse things.
Wait for what excuses she will come up when his next music is released after the Q+AL tour.

I totally forgot Feel Something, which I loved. That is the one that should have been released, although neither of the others were really released since nothing was sent to radio. I don't understand the whole business model about what he is doing. Why put them out there if you don't send it to radio and you don't realistically expect it to chart and you really aren't worried about it, per Adam. That just does not make the least bit of sense to me. I don't stream and I didn't buy the last two, so I think a lot of his older fans (both in age and how long they have been a fan) didn't much care for the new music (last two songs). There is no way many people are going to hear it the way it was done. I hope the next song will appeal to me more. I would just like to get my hands on a DVD with great sound from this tour! I have that Japanese one from several years ago but the sound is poor and they only sang some of the songs they normally do in the set list. Bummer as it was quite expensive.

I don't think you ever get over a death like that. My Dad died 10 years ago and I still miss talking to him every evening. We are both night owls and always had a little chat late in the evening just to make sure that all was well. Then I could go to bed knowing he was OK. Time makes it better, but it is never all gone, unfortunately.

I am finally getting better and can walk around with no aids, but it still has a way to go. The pain with a knee is indescribable and the PT is the worst of all and I have an extremely high pain tolerance. The worst part is that I need the other one done probably later this year. Not sure I can face that, but I have no choice. I am planning to go and see QAL in Boston on Aug. 4th. It is an outside venue, unfortunately, of about 20,000 but I have seats under some enclosed area, so I just hope it isn't too hot or that it rains, cause that would be a bummer!!

I know you laugh at Caroline about the homophobia but I am convinced that was the case after Idol and Adam has said the same thing. He is very honest and wouldn't say that if it were not true. His whole career was almost sidelined after that AMA performance and that was pure homophobia. 10 years later everything is shown on TV but not in 2009. It is truly amazing how far society has come in 10 years. I think had he picked a regular song, sung it like he did on Idol, then he could have had a huge career. But he is a little left of center and does it his own way and there is nothing wrong with that. At some point you have to be true to yourself, just like with the new music. I can't imagine he ever thought that would be a hit, but it is what he wanted to do. I am just glad he is singing Queen's music because those are my favorite songs that he does. Everybody likes something different!

See? We can actually agree on some things regarding AL.
I truly think Feel Something is his most powerful song to date. No lie, I really like it and how open he was about his depression. I do think it could have been a breakthrough of sorts if it was a single.

I don't think I'm greiving my dad the "right" way. I'm getting help for it though. I sat on one of the old benches in my old neighborhood two days ago, and I shed tears. I miss him, but it was so hard to see him suffer in his last few months. I won't go into that, but I will always miss him.
Ouch what you went through sounds so painful. I hope it won't be uncomfortable for you during the concert. Not sure where you are, but if you are in an area that has those extremely high temps, take care. Take care anyways.
I don't laugh at SweetCaroline's claims of homophobia, but I don't believe it, mainly because she has provided no proof of it. I do think she gave, and obviously still gives excuses for him. I don't think by doing that, helps AL at all.
I know I get mocked for saying this, I think AL sang Save Me very well.

Who honestly gives a fuck who's there. New people discovering the music is not a bad thing.
