When stupid mistakes are made such as what was assumed what was worn at Live Aid, especially since the information is right there at a person's fingertips, there is no excuse. I took the time and effort and a good bit of money in being a Queen fan since 1992. With the internet there really is no excuse to not knowing the basics. I don't expect the AL fans that post here not to know everything, but man, I wish at least the basics were known since some AL fans post here.
No excuse for some of AL's fans to say AL has replaced Freddie, is better than Freddie, and on Queen boards no less.
As for Paul at least the man had credblity. Q+PR was more of a rock show than Q+AL could ever hope to be. To me, Q+AL is relying on gimmicks far too much, too often these last few years.
Freddie and Queen deserve their legacy. That's their blood, sweat and tears that made Queen what they were, and always will be. AL has been riding on those coattails for years now. I don't think there is any need of Brian to say AL can do what Freddie couldn’t. That's hyperbole to the extreme. And some AL fans lap up what Brian and Roger say about AL.
No wonder Brian say's the things he does when he reads stuff like you just wrote. Paul had credibility (why does he and not Adam) because that's exactly what Brian would be asking?
So one motorbike and sitting on a piano means the show is FULL of gimmicks? There's less now than in previous shows. Incidentally I'll bet Judas Priest fans don't call it a gimmick when Rob brings his Harley D on stage.
How is Adam (who was asked, he didn't force them to tour with him) riding coat tails when they wouldn't be able to tour without him, he's as much a part of the show as they are and the whole thing is only possible if you have a singer. He puts work into the shows just like they do, he's out there singing at a top level night after night, that's called being part of a band and for the tours that's what he is he's not just some hired hand who turns up 5 minutes before the show and wings it.
As to the fans who say he's better, so what, I don't agree but then I'm a Queen fan since the early 70's, I grew up listening to Queen with Freddie but for some of Adam's fans they only heard of Queen through him, they're already die hard Adam fans just like you're a die hard Freddie fan. The majority aren't gonna suddenly prefer Freddie to Adam just like Queen fans aren't gonna prefer Adam to Freddie. People like what they like, it's not gonna change their legacy in the slightest.
