It'd be preposterous if they replaced the original BARCELONA tracks with the orchestral. But this IS QPL we're talking about.

Mind boggling really, why couldn’t they have simply included both the original AND orchestra versions of the Barcelona album, even IF the original version also got a re-mix like Mr. Bad Guy did for instance?

The Barcelona Special Edition inclusion is a terrible decision - it's akin to re-releasing Mr Bad Guy but instead of the original versions, using all the awful dance/house etc..remixes of those tracks we've had over the years.
If the original Barcelona had obvious flaws or issues that the orchestral version corrected then they might have a point, but that simply isn't the case - the original is a work of genius and should be included to make people realise the groundbreaking work that Freddie and Mike put into that.

Maybe this forum has lack of moderation and a lot of bugs but this is the best source what real Queen fans want. Some serious person from QPL should come here and read this forum everyday.
For me, far better could be re-release The FM solo collection box. (The Best release from them ever) I was too young to buy new at that time but now I can't find it or price is too high.

The Freddie Mercury box set is indeed the best Queen related release ever.
I got it for my 16th birthday and cherish it until this day.
It is beyond me why they do not release such Queen box sets. They must have the same studio stuff for every Queen album as they had for Freddie's stuff (a bit less for the first few albums but that can be compensated by including early live stuff in live box sets).
Apart from studio stuff they could easily make exclusive live box sets, make downloads available for many of the shows they have (even if it's only mono sbd we'd dig it!).
The sad reality is that no such projects are likely to happen any time soon.
